having seen both, i would recommend seeing the first... but you don't necessarily definitely HAVE to. it will still be good.

Zendaya was a poor casting choice for Chani

The Padishah emperor was underutilized and squandered but maybe it'll be expanded on later

It was a good movie, but it was almost 3 hours long.

I guess I'm used to watching movies at home and pausing it.

A lot of people are saying the movie is good. That's sort of a bad sign to me. A good adaption of Dune should have most of the audience leaving confused.

The first one was kind of boring. Also can't stand Zendaya. She always has this expression on her face like she's smelling a fart.

I'll wait for this one to come to streaming.

That's how I did it. The 80's movie is crap, but it does give you a basic idea what the story is about and who the characters are.
Both of the newer Dunes were really good. Probably better to watch in the theater rather than at home.
