I saw a really interesting mini doc show about how some old scientists were working with orphanges back in the 50s or so, and recording how children were doing with different families. I can't say how any black kids faired, but they showed a group of triplets that were seperated at a young age, 1 went to rich family, one went to middle class, and one went to poor family.

Kids all had horrible issues, and stemmed from separation from each other, that was the big thing, but the scientists were dead, and the orphanage was out of business so they couldn't sue them, but by random fate they all met over time, somebody said you look exactly like my friend, and introduced them and then they got tested, and somehow the 3rd got brought in too. was crazy.

But not everything turned out OK regarding which household they were raised in, genetics still played a role.

There was even a study done where black kids adopted by and raised by white families scored the exact same on IQ tests as black kids raised by black families.
