It is difficult to figure out cause of death. As the article mentioned the 89 year olds vitamin D levels were on the upper end of the healthy testing range. The vitamin D was listed as one of several possible causes of death. From what I've read good to aim for 50ng/nl testing level. That is in the middle of the testing range.

Since I moved to S. Florida I personally stopped taking vitamin D. Instead I make it a point to get some afternoon sun exposure.
