In the end we all know that mgftp is just jealous of my S89C.

He realized the error of his ways too late after the return window for his x93l closed.

S89C? LoL, no, OLED isn't for my use regardless, but if I were to go OLED it would be an A95L because I am not a peasant. S89C is a good cost-conscious option though.

Pfft the A95L can’t even be purchased without damage to the reflection coating because stingy Sony refuses to use peel-off static plastic covers to protect their screens.

$5000 for a damaged product new out of the box lool.

Pretty amazing the set has won so many awards with a damaged screen.

The A95L didn’t exactly blow the competition away in the ValueElectronics comp. The A95L is overrated if you check out the complaints on AVSForum.

Paying $1799 for a 77” qd-oled that does 95% of what the $5000 77” A95L does seems like the no-brainer choice to me.

And it doesn’t come with a damaged screen.

Did I say it blew away the competition? Still the best OLED.

Sounds like you are justifying your purchase and/or regretting it.

So I can’t just state the facts in response to your post without upsetting you enough to claim I have to justify an expense to myself?

Lol do you pay attention to my tech threads? I buy tons of expensive chit - I could easily afford the A95L.

However, I dislike paying way more for something beyond its actual worth.

You seem to have a weird hard-on for Sony which I find amusing.

Honestly, the facts you posted seemed very irrelevant for a response to someone simply posting the type of TV they own and what they would pick if they went OLED, but Ok.

My only real hard-on is probably more for Google TV TBH as it's a strong OS preferance, manufacturer of the TV is irrelevant to me, but Sony has made the best TV's for a few years now, as a self-proclaimed tech expert you should know that. And now that you mentioned your tech threads did you change your avi? Aren't you the guy who had a QM8?

Do you not understand that I'm talking about value-proposition? I very much dislike the feeling I'm spending too much for something regardless of whether it's an expensive TV or a candy bar - that's just how my mentality works. So yes the facts I stated were in fact very relevant lmao.

Sonys have a lot of issues which are plainly documented in many, many threads on AVSForum and reddit. They are far away from the best consumer experience when price is factored in.

And you bringing up the QM8 in that way shows that you probably don't keep up with TVs in the way I do. But keep on displaying your overall ignorance to me, I find it amusing.

Perhaps you should revisit that post "I can be kind of a prick to people over nothing". All I said is what TV I own and what I would own if I wanted and OLED, it's not a personal attack, lol, in fact you engaged me in conversation.

Sony makes the best OLED, everything you have said is just an argument to why it's not worth the extra money to you and to justify your purchase. If it makes sense to you I am very happy for you, but I don't have to feel the same way as you.

I guess Coalman made me suspicious of your intent lol. I'll pull back the prickishness though.

But Sony doesn't necessarily make the best OLED - it's the best overall but not in every category and certainly not in terms of value proposition.

The Sony tax has gotten out of hand. You might not care to admit it concerning the S89C versus the A95L but when the performance is as close as it is between the two, and it really is close overall, the fact that one is $1799 and one is $4999, to me, is borderline outageous.

Best rule to have a good time in this section is to ignore Coal.

I don't disagree, performance per dollar isn't worth it if assessed in a linear fashion, but I would pay the extra for the bit of extra performance, and to have Google TV built in. That's all, that is me, I am sure many more S89Cs are sold than A95Ls.
