Besides those already mentioned, my friend has a Subaru that he's taken to 500,000 kilometers. Had to replace the engine at 300k but just put in a used one and it's still going.

Japan once again cucks the world with their dominance.

Lexus, Toyota, Honda. The most practical car brands for 99.99% of the population. Toyota Hilux is the go to truck for terrorists across the world and in pretty chitty terrains.

A brand new engine or even a lightly used one is 5k. I'd rather spend 5k on a brand new engine than spend 20k on a brand new body.

And if chit hits the fan on the old body, I can always part out the new engine.

okay…still a solid sum of $..he's acting like it was like replacing a thermostat or something simple for 100 bux. That's a serious job.

Toyota/Lexus

But they don’t look so good, so taking chances with Tesla for my next car. It improved a lot. Family owns one. When I test drove a few years ago it was not acceptable yet quality wise. Now it’s a different story.

the general consensus is toyota/lexus. honda/acura, mazda, and subaru are pretty solid too but still toyota is in a league of its own as far as reliability.

Toyota.

I've been in automotive repair my whole career and there is no doubt. It doesn't mean they are perfect or they can't have problems, but if you want a safe bet, they are.
