Loved Dragon's Dogma 1 but lol at microtransactions in a $70 game
This is why studios like CDPR hold a special place in my heart. Releases game. That's it. No microtransactions whatsoever. Tons of freebies like free comic books, free digital art and booklet, free soundtrack, etc.
Items which you know other companies would have charged for.
CP77 released broken? We'll fix it and add tons off free items, features, and even missions (gigs) along the way. Even Witcher 1 and 2 are still getting updated nowadays (last patch was on Feb 28)
Also lol at Denuvo DRM for Dragon's Dogma 2. When will companies learn that gamers hate that **** and they'll still get rich even with piracy. Cyberpunk 2077 was cracked just hours after release and game still became a financial release which was even handicapped because of the controversial release. i.e. even with piracy, good games will still make a fuk ton of money. No need for Denuvo DRM.

I could easily pirate games but I'm not a scumbag and the trouble of keeping up with cracks and patches via torrenting or whatever is sooooooo annoying. I will either pay for the game or not play it.

Pretty sure they might have made this game years ago and just decided to launch it now, it's fun enough and not being able to save scum and no hand holding on quests is part of the game but the jankyness and poor optimization is dated. A modernized dragons dogma would have been great though with better performance/graphics and probably co-op/multiplayer.

Jesus, this is one of the scummiest, if not the scummiest I've seen a game company act. Heard that by itself, the game is really good, but I don't think I'll be getting this game even if it goes on sale for 70% of the price which would still be expensive btw. I'm not gonna support this kind of company.

Someone says Hellsdivers 2 has microtransactions,
why is no one mad about that??
I hadn't bought DD2 yet, but the microtransactions is a nonfactor, is moreso the gameplay.

-It doesn't cost $70
-From what I've seen, it seems to be a game that is made for multiplayer and is a live service game.
-DG2 has live service functions but it's mainly a single-player game, so if you already have a $40 total of microtransactions in your store page, players (Rightfully so) will think that QoL in game was intentionally made hard so that players will be lead to microtransactions. the vid posted a few posts above explains and shows why the microtransactions in DG2 is so disgusting.

Single player games shouldn't have any MTX even stuff like this game which are just time/grind savers, that's what cheat codes used to be for. I assume denuvo is also tanking performance too.
The game should have multiple character save slots though.

Suspicions confirmed X10, fukk this game.
Really, it's how the game is designed, so no one is escaping this idiocy :
Or if anyone would even give a schit about such a stupid waste of processing, but it makes more sense that Capcom considers PC their primary platform. The only question is whether they were using and aiming for an i9-13900ks or 19-14900k during development.
Even their supposed reasoning behind one save slot over "exploration" and "consequences" is retarded. Now with the microtransaction reveal, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they were more concerned with people somehow working out a loophole.
And just my own experience with Crapcom's retarded save systems, you damn well better not try to make a backup of your own save unless it's way the hell away from where they store them because you can brick the game's ability to save at all. I fortunately managed to fix it (monster hunter world) by uninstalling and reinstalling to a new drive, but it was an eye opener as to how their save system when combined with cloud saving can easily become seemingly FUBAR. If that isn't bad enough, while researching my own problem I saw the same exact error on consoles where the troubleshooting options are basically zero.
Back to Dragon's Smegma 2, they somehow managed to make it so you can accidentally delete your main save by loading from an inn save , so the whole "only one save" thing sounds like bullschit on their part.
The item in question that you're buying is only the fast travel point , but you still need to buy a "ferrystone" for 10,000 gold to use it.
Alongside the principle of the matter as Snootz said, there is also review outlets that won't adjust their scores, so this game deserves all the negative consumer reaction it's getting and then some. They only continue with these scummy practices because dopamine-starved, corporate simpanzees and leather lickers need to defend multi-million dollar companies and justify their own poor spending habits.

"In Dragon's Dogma 2, a large amount of CPU usage is allocated to each character and dynamically calculates the impact of their physical presence in various environments. In certain situations where numerous characters appear simultaneously, the CPU usage can be very high and may affect the frame rate
," a Capcom representative told IGN. "We are aware that in such situations, settings that reduce GPU load may currently have a limited effect; however, we are looking into ways to improve performance in the future."

Didn't expect Capcom to outdo Bethesda where they announced adding a working in game map as an upcoming new feature.
Now you can't even create a new save. In a single player game.
Maybe next they'll ask for money so you can access the options menu.

I can understand for those type of games why you wouldn't want (or frankly even need) multiple "saves" per player slot because you could easily lose progress, same deal with a lot of single player RPGs that aren't Bethesda quick-save-and-genocide simulators.
But actually limiting the number of total saves in a game where they outright released an entirely separate character creator to play around with the possibilities is so mind-numbingly counterintuitive that it is difficult to discern whether it was sheer incompetence, malice, or some middle ground with their heads still firmly lodged up their asses.

Personally, and this is just conjecture, but if so much of the performance issues and possibly even something I've read relating to how the pawn system might work (e.g. fears of players gaming multiple profiles and pawns, pawns stored on servers, who knows), that is like the least interesting side of these types of games to me and not even worth so much BS.
I'm a simple man and just want a game where I get to kill big monsters at the end of the day.

I can see why they added chit tons of micros. A lot of the gameplay loop has some very tedious parts.
BRB traveling to other side of map on ox-cart. Brb get attacked by 2 ogres that take 5 minutes to kill, brb its nighttime and skeletons are about.
While killing final ogre, two of your teamates were on his back and he fell into a lake, water = death. Now you have one companion and you are like a 10 minute walk to town , and its nighttime so you cant see **** and there are tons of mobs. Game autosaves a ton so your options are to reload at your last 'Inn' save 1 hour ago, or attempt to fight your way back to town for hours while your max hp is down to 10%
