Saw it last night. It was a fun movie, I was entertained. Conor did a solid job imo and Jake is always good. Their fights were actually pretty good.
Only weird part is they put Post Malone in it right at the start and made his fight CGI....which looks really out of place.

Watched it and enjoyed it. I'm a huge Roadhouse fan though.
HTF does Jake get so shredded while keeping good size? He had to be like 6% body fat and dude's 43 years old.
No HBBs was the worst part. I thought Jake played the reluctant and nice cooler pretty well.
Will watch again.

That movie fukin sucked with it having the original name attached to it
- how many diverse bands did they need to keep switching to? lol got up to 5+ as if they needed to showcase and get them shoutouts for real world
- brb almost felt like I needed to stand up and put my fist up when they were doing the slow camera over all the pictures in the bosses office as you need to recognize there’s history here
- another freckled Jesus type chick with the bookstore girl
- thought I was watching an RC car with the truck bridge scene with how insta fast it speeds up and reverses
- no throat ripping or any sort of signature move which goes in to next rant
- his thing is calling out what he’s done damage wise was freakin gay and talking as he broke the guys throat which I guess was supposed to be a nod to throat ripping
- suicide squad rat girl actually made the teddyless blonde from the original look hot
- zero showcased hot bches lol not even the boss villains had bches on the side as eye candy
- body positivity fat chicks were around more than any resemblance to HBBs
- if you like bouncers, coolers, the whole way bar business works there’s none of that
- zero characters that are distinct just generic looking or twink looking people as in the black one of two extra bouncers total! lol or the dweeb that punches him on the bosses boat
- no friend of the past that shows up to help where I thought they get a cool cameo out of somebody

I've never seen the original, but the plot of this is so retarded. A lot of the characters are apparently retarded. That's the only way this plot works. McGregor's brand of comedy is showing off his butt. The fight scenes were fine but nothing new. A lot of the dialogue is hokey. It wasn't the worst film I've seen this year but I wouldn't recommend it.

I would say Roadhouse is an “ass”’ film rather than a “chit” film.
It’s really not trying to be a Hollywood masterpiece or anything so it feels unfair to hold it to really high standards.
It’s a B movie, and if you look at it through that lens it’s not bad. I don’t think it’s a good B movie though, it’s bang average.
Kept me mildly entertained from start to finish but I doubt I will ever watch it again.

Watched it last night.
Up until the first McGregor bar scene it was decent, and then it sort of jumped the shark a bit too much. The doctor wasn't hot at all IMO and throwing her father in as a corrupt cop made zero sense, as did a lot of other things like having the bad guys father calling shots from jail. Fight scenes were good and him driving the guys he just beat up to the hospital made me lol. Zero stuff about how bars work and the younger bouncer suddenly being able to take guys out because he's confident was ridiculous. Fight scene at the end was great as was the one in the bar the first time. McGregor was good as a coked up degenerate, so he's basically playing himself.
Not as good as the original and definitely would not watch again, but not horrible. 5/10.

I've seen the original many times growing up so will be biased.. but the characters, plot and continuity were all decent in the Swazye version. even the crew that kept getting beat on
i think the only half decent scene was towards the ending fight. and maybe a couple of moments with McNugget. he was generic but entertaining and much better than expected. not his intro though where he took the guys blazer. that was awful, and why they had to follow it up with an explosion. i guess it was to show mayhem was coming
really the whole film sucked balls though. it just lacked in all departments that made the original so great. and the beach kissing seen felt really rushed, like they met at the hospital and then what they are making out?
i am sure in the original they met a few times first. she definitely showed up to the bar one night, met his pal for the dancing scene in the diner. i felt there was more developmental scenes. of course it was not a remake scene for scene. but if you liked the original i would skip this one.
and Dalton shooting the dead body? it felt so out of character. i liked Swayze's version where he had to call his old pal because he felt he couldn't handle the situation, after the big boss blew up the tool shop of the guy that said dont marry an ugly woman, and the monster truck crushing the car lot. he knew the boss of the town had power and muscle. so he needed his old pal to come by and help. all those scenes made the story so much better - for a mindless fun flick of the 80s.
