non-poorcell checking in.

I've paid for a music service back with it was called Google Play Music and cost 10 dollars a month. Back then it came included with Youtube Red, which eventually was merged as Youtube Premium as a bundle. Price increases have it up to 13.99 a month. I think think it's 3 dollars more than just Youtube Music without TY Premium.

At 3 extra bucks a month it's for sure worth it as Youtube can serve as your podcast primary device and music without any commercials. You get chrome casting abilities as well. A cheap Roku TV in home gym, chrome cast in living room for music too. A rarely watch videos on a PC. Mostly you tube podcasts in the car, or during work playing int he background on mobile device or chrome casting to stereo. It just works and integrated well into Android. Also they good carplay/airplay integration in cars.

People must not understand that you can download videos for offline use and no ads.

For example, when I'm on a plane I hook up a downloaded youtube video (internet is getting better on planes now, but I digress) to my iPhone 15 (Pro Max) with a USB-C connection directly to a pair of AR glasses (xreal air gen1) and I'm sitting there, no neck strain, watching a full fledged movie like I'm in a theatre.

dont you have to jailbreak for that chit and/or constantly making sure the bypass software is up to date?

Interesting, well if someone doesnt want to pay $1.77/month then thats a great alternative. The price is just too low for me to play games.

I get called a boomer cuck and technology illiterate because I pay the extra 3 bucks on top of YouTube music for premium. It just works. No extensions, no special browser, no wack user interface, full Chromecast to most devices including TV's and media players. One dude told me i was dumb for using smart TVs and not connecting a computer via HDMI to my TV. Lol, just to save 3 bucks.

Mostly the ability to listen to videos while your screen is off is dope. You also get zero ads on YouTube Music iirc which has a broader indie user created content selection (literally any YT vid but audio form)

Yep, with my busy schedule, hoping on a flight in a few minutes, in the car with no cell service on the drive, or popping Youtube on whatever screen I have on, that's a lot of devices to keep updated to remain ad free all the time, and TVs with chromecast is just way too much effort. I got away with it for a long time, but Google/Youtube has gotten a lot better about making you pay.

And when you find content at the last minute that you want, it's just way simpler to pay for it and download it, and go offline. I don't know if I'll keep paying for it, but right now it's worth it. I make more in interest on my money than paying for all of my subscriptions.
