Honestly death is far easier than life in Russian prisons. Just because they have a moratorium on it doesn't mean he cannot bump off anybody he wants to when they are jailed. Since his top aides are shouting about bringing it back & none would dare to do that without his approval, it is likely he is using this to sway the public opinion to reintroduce it & he can use it for his political opponents without having to arrange all these accidents & so he can execute anybody who shows dissent to him.

Lol at her naivete-Putin is happy to murder his citizens as collateral damage, arrange for those Russian Oligarchs that he believes have crossed him pushed out of windows, hang themselves, come in contact with nerve agents-not just there but in the UK & elsewhere etc, arrange for his political opponents who have any momentum to suddenly be poisoned or locked up on phony charges for years or decades-lock up their lawyers etc. Dude is basically the second coming of Stalin & she still thinks he has morals or is prohibited from doing as he pleases, after seeing 25 years of his garbage?

Your friend is correct. No death penalty from the courts. Of course you can get the journalist disease and walk off building roofs or a gang in prison can kill you or you have a weird case of food poisoning. The torture is for show, they aren't going to get any useful information. The one good outcome of this is that the US and Russia are still sharing security information regarding Islamic terrorist groups. We might not be on the best of terms at the moment but we still can share information about a common enemy.

I haven’t seen anyone saying this at all, because Western people are actually fed up with being **** on by third world savages and then have them take the piss once caught because we’re such a soft touch.

How sure are we they even caught the right guys? Just lol at anybody that's trusts any information out of Russia. For what it's worth I don't trust US sources any more. There is a lot of incentive for Putin to catch them quickly and make a big spectacle out of bringing the terrorists to justice. That doesn't guarantee Russia is lying/falsifying information, but how do you trust them?

it will be a (temporary) deterrent. we know that torturing exists but rarely is it publicly broadcasted.

the terrorists likely hoped for a quick death but instead they are now going to suffer for a long time (hopefully years, not just a few days)

people of Reasonable and Good character are not against Proper Punishment but do find TORTURE to be disturbing. It's why "rules" of WAR were created by CIVILIZED Nations of HIGHER EVOLVED NATURE and THINKING

...and there's the question of so many "False Flags" Conspiracies and Innocent People being Punished/Incarcerated that gives one pause when contemplating humane punishment

There is a certain portion of mankind that has no ability for long term foresight or impulse control and need to see consequences that await them if they don't keep themselves in check. Examples are required for those people to understand. Terrorists that kill innocent people should be of the mindset that they are volunteering to become an example if they choose to act out.

That has always other than Gorbachev been the Russian mantra-US/West is to blame for everything. Putin ousted the Oligarchs from owning the two big news stations they had bought, during the big fire sale when the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991 that most Russians get their news from & has used them to pump out his propaganda for decades. He controls pretty much all the newspapers there & those brave enough to go against him end up in jail or shot.

She probably does believe it, but if not it would not be wise for her to say it under her real name for sure. He passed laws a while back where he can lock people up for years for speaking out against him/criticising the Ukraine war & he will go after their families-even if the person themselves aren't in Russia & yeah-a guy who sends FSB agents to England to apply nerve agents on door handles & poison tea is a scary proposition for all Russians anywhere.

Honestly this situation is like UK or USA wondering why retarded goat ****ers want to kill them after so many conquests and wars.

As soon as I could see that these madafakas could speak Russian I knew they were from one of the -stans or Chechnya.

Russia getting the same treatment from ex-buffer zone Soviet States who were never treated as "Russia" - just territories claimed to keep the Blue out during the Cold War.

And since Russia backed Al-Assad only to snub the USA the -stans, Russia became as hated as much as the USA because the moslem radicals just want a hardcore Caliphate.
