"The vote itself, which ultimately confirmed the embattled judge who faced multiple accusations of sexual misconduct, was periodically interrupted with the shouts of protesters in the gallery. Pence called on the sergeant-at-arms a number of times to restore order during the vote."

They were literally interrupting a senate for a scotus appointment

And trying to enter the building

And they were appropriately dealt with - as were the Jan 6th insurrectionists.

You are trying to make a false equivalency here.. I think you know it.

It did a pretty good job on the closing argument, and twisted her case against her ironically.

Using her argument, peaceful protesters could get 20 years in prison

Smith has already anticipated this in his prior Scotus brief - and started the argument - but good chance if Fischer wins 2 of Trumps main charges of his 4 DC charges are gone

When these people are released due to improper detainment- how does that not change your view? You have to know how ridiculous you sound parroting leftist MSM words when its already understood the definition of insurrection does not meet the event. I guess that's the idea of the left, to change definitions like its fluid (example: recession)
even left wing media is moving away from the word insurrection and now calling it a riot.

So in trying to justify the obstruction charges against J6-ers the Solicitor General basically argued that ANY protest against government action could demand a 15-20 year prison sentence.

She then had ZERO argument or justification when asked about why leftist protesters aren't charged under the exact circumstances she described as being worthy of felonies.

Just an abysmal performance by the evil left today. Naked corruption.

Just to be clear, this law was made and designed for Enron paper shredders

That is the law they tried to use on these, DC people to get them in jail

Eerily quiet on this completely obvious conflict of interest.

Just a reminder that the right has zero problem when things like this favor them but play the victim when they don't.

Democrats were right when they said Biden should overhaul the Supreme Court and this is the proof.

This spaces is a really good breakdown of what happed today / and a explanation of likely implication

This has multiple distinguished, former federal prosecutors and Supreme Court advocates.

Some of the Jan 6th defendants that have already been convicted may or may but get relief based on how they did some of their motions.

Many will.

Gets going well at 30 min and really kicks in in 45 min

Warning though / They don't know how to use spaces well lol

Because it's absolutely irrelevant to this federal charge being placed on these defendants.

Be on the lookout - several people expect the ruling on this Thursday- and then the argument of possible dropping 2 of Trumps DC charges begins.

Fisher wins 6-3

Justice Barrett dissents, joined by Kagan and Sotomayor

Possible - not definite - dropping 2 of Trumps charges - and freeing some political prisoners.

Trump brahs we have to feel vindicated right now. They tried EVERYTHING to weaponize the system in an effort to destroy MAGA and it’s ALL crumbling before their eyes.

Good is triumphing over evil.

Reading more - there is a possibility Trumps charges could stay- it's very debatable- and might not be worth it for smith given the amount of time it could add to thread that needle
