Also - it's not hard to find a sammich shop in Philly that is 24/7

The best place was at a butcher shop that makes sandwiches so i bought one Monday and it tasted like they shaved the meat and cooked it for me.
The best meat texture i have ever had in a sandwich by far!

you can certainly get good steaks from places like D'Alessandros, Tony Luke's and Jim's, but some of the best steaks are in areas that I wouldn't send you

I was born and raised in Philly, and the best steaks I had were the corner places in hooded areas.

As far as the difference between a place like Larry's and a place like Pat's even though Pat's is kinda touristy now, isn't that big.

Forget cheese steak.
Let me aware you about DiNic’s roast pork with sharp provolone and broccoli-rabe.

Not sure that's true.
Some folks mentioned steak sandwiches, and to me a great one of those is a AAA prime (ribeye) cooked with specific attention to caramelizing the fat, then sliced, topped with caramelized onions. That's a 'steak sandwich'. I can eat a chopped cheese here and there but quality is pretty chitty as it's cutting up an f'n burger patty srs.
