OP can easily afford many homes. He just isn't dumb enough to buy right now.

Honestly, I don't think anybody outside of the typical Trump media is seeing things like this.

But I'd imagine the economy will be a very big deal in this election. And the economy is absolutely terrible for people who are related to small business right now.

Yep. The whole "heels up" and making her out to be some kind of sloot is only backfiring, and so are the racial insults.

If Trump was smart, he'd know he needs to appeal to undecideds and none of his inciteful behavior is going to do that. He's just constantly pandering to his base, and even some of them are getting turned off.

Nah, I disagree. The way Trump wins the election is by having a lot of undecided people choose to stay home on election day. If he can make enough white people think Harris is some slut who slept her way to the top, there will be a lot of women who refuse to vote for her.

I think you'd be surprised how many votes Biden received because of Covid, Mail In ballots, Unions, etc that will not be interested in Kamala this time around.

Well Wyoming is more popular because they don't have an income tax, I know CEOs and wealthy people that live there to avoid income tax but have houses elsewhere including So Cal and Bay Area. As an example you can be highly paid "in CA" and as long as you are out of the state for 183 days you don't pay CA income tax.

I think so as well

He keeps trying to use the same playbook..and on top of that he and his team was not expecting Bidden to drop out the race so he has pretty much no comebacks with Kamala

Bad management from his team tbh…I doubt hes going to gain any new supporters unless he does great in the debates. They started the convo about age of Bidden but now hes the one that is the target about age

I dunno man, she's pretty unlikable. In the last Dem primary she literally had to drop out before the Iowa Caucus because her polling was so low. Obviously her polls will be ok now when it's only fluff ads and carefully curated content being shown to make her look good. But she has no record to stand on and is a black woman from San Francisco with the most Liberal record in the entire Senate.

When it comes down to it, I think a massive number of people who voted for Biden in 2020 will end up staying home this time around. She's really a terrible candidate, and I'm still pretty sure she is a sacrificial lamb that even the Dems don't believe has a shot at winning.

I make a very good salary.

However, after the gym I went to Five Guys and got ONE burger and a soda…20 dollars.

I don't know how people can afford anything.

I feel like I just got out of college.

Five Guys is the worst. I actually had it a couple days ago, and a 4 patty bacon cheeseburger was $19. Just not that special.

But I agree. I have plenty of money, but Real Estate is kinda slow right now so I'm not gung ho about spending until things pick back up. Had to cut out a lot of my previous routine of entertainment.

I think she will win over all the Libs ofc, the centers/undecided will vote for RFK and possibly her since shes not Biden

But no Dem is going to be voting for Trump and I think RFK may even take even the most votes from Trump though

Of course I don't expect Dems to vote for anybody but Harris. But because of the Social Media blitz that happened during 2020 Biden ended up getting a lot of votes from places that typically vote. I'm not sure that level of turnout is even possible this time around, and I wouldn't expect single issue voters(abortion, etc) to turn out this time around.

Like I said, I live in a massive Dem stronghold city and there's absolutely zero buzz for Kamala. While I'm sure most of these people will still end up voting for her, they're not out pounding the pavement on her behalf like people were in the last election.

Also remember, a lot of people vote for Trump that you don't know about. I haven't told a single person that I will vote Trump(most of my friends probably assume I don't vote), and there are a ton of people in this same situation.

A McDonald's double quarter pounder meal with friends is 12 bucks. I wanted a big burger after the gym and Five Guys is next door, so I figured, why not?

The burger is 1,000 cals or more, it was not big and didn't have a delicious flavor. The place used to be packed at all time and there was almost no one in it.

These businesses are crazy.

Anyway, I was thinking about buying a condo a couple of months ago and I just think it's stupid. Instead, I'm looking for cheaper apartment near where I work. That way I can save on gas, etc. However, I live fairly close now and moving would be a couple of thousand.

Again, I feel like it the late 90s and I'm just starting out.

Yep, Condos are tough right now. Between Mortgage, HOA, and Taxes the Condos I'm currently looking at would be $4000/mo all in to buy, and although it would be great I'm just not super interested in locking in $48,000 in after tax income per year to go toward housing for a 1 Bedroom condo on the 10th floor.

Something has to give, and it will be interesting to see what that something is.

My conspiracy theory is that inflation is some kind of tool to usher in a new economic model.

The media is filled with "woke" ideas which are communist based. They are designed to create anger and rejection of traditional cultural models.

So, what is being done on the economic side to couple with the media cultural messages?

Well, it seems like high prices are designed to make people say what I said, I make a lot of money but feel poor anyway. I skipped the fries to reduce cost but felt poorly buying the hamburger anyway. I am looking for a cheaper place, I don't want to spend on gas, I'm not buying fun consumer goods, etc. I'm a stoic type who can take all of this, but it's still sad. But, what will the average person's reactions be…they will get disgusted and demand more equitable conditions.

There's serious talk and experiments with universal basic income and I think all of this is to make people demand, not just want, stuff like that.

Well I definitely think the purpose is to force people to change their lifestyles. Which hasn't seemed to happen yet.

I'm also a stoic type who will just reduce my consumption and keep moving along. And it's probably a good thing for my longterm health, as my drinking is way down and overall unhealthy consumption is also down. But still quality of life is terrible, so we'll see. Luckily, if things don't improve in the future I'm someone who has absolutely zero qualms with moving to a different country with lower cost of living and making things happen. Would actually prefer that, to be honest.

I would love to move to another country but it would have to be English speaking due to my career.

I work in psych and that is initially very low paying, so I conditioned myself decades ago to want very few material goods. Most of my entertainment is intellectual or creating artwork which is very low cost once you have the gear. So, I am good if things continue to get worse.

Regarding health, I used to work for the government, and healthcare cost nothing. Now, I'm in the public and all healthcare plans I've seen have an 1800 to 2500 copay, meaning I do not go to the doctor because it's all out of pocket until I reach those sums. So, I am on top of my health.

That's a good incentive to not drink, smoke, or get fat.

It's like living in a warzone.

Vice President Harris was on the TV, and the local gun store owner said to his auto mechanic (friends since high school):

"You know what? She ain't so bad. The economy is recovering, nobody's rioting, and we're standing up on the world stage again. Can't believe I'm saying this but Ol' Oakland Kam's got my vote this year."

I looked around and all I saw were heads nodding in agreement. I heard a few calls of "Yes sir" and "Damn straight" from the men around me. Even saw the lonely ball cap wearing farmer in the corner raised his drink with a nod.
Let's be real here, you've no idea who your dad is. Am I right?

But I agree. I have plenty of money, but Real Estate is kinda slow right now so I'm not gung ho about spending until things pick back up. Had to cut out a lot of my previous routine of entertainment.
Yeah, the price is pretty high but its worth it for not only the cajun fries, but the portion they give you. With a large order of fries, they will basically pull out a small paper bag and fill it 3/4 of the way full.

Also, the burgers taste is all on you. They have like 15 different free toppings/condiemnts to choose from.

Yeah, it's possible that their pricing model just doesn't work well for my personal tastes. But still you can get a better burger at a sit down place for about the same price nowadays.
