It's probably been mentioned but Airplane! 1 and 2 were great and pretty timeless. Now that I think about it I think those are also the only airplane movies I've seen besides the true story about Aloha Airlines flight 243.
Edit: I'm not sure how I forgot about one of my other favorite airplane movies.

Snakes on a plane is the first that comes to mind
Otherwise I cant think of much, other than military type movies. Top gun is a must see. Con air?

There's another movie 'Flight 93' that's free to watch on youtube.
It's at least as good as 'United 93'.

Fail Safe (1964), watched it long time ago. I don't want to watch this one before bed.
Reach for the Sky (1956) , it's about Douglas Bader, a WWII RAF pilot who lost his legs in low-level aerobatics accident.
This is the kind of movie I've been looking for.
"BOB," I think nobody needs any explanation about this 1969 GOAT.
Set in the year 1910, the film follows a fictitious air race from London to Paris, with a £10,000 (equivalent to £1,300,000 in 2023) prize, intended to prove that Britain is "number one in the air". I have other six movies you have great taste, brother.

Trivia:
Five real B-17 warbirds were used in the filming of Memphis Belle, out of eight B-17s that were airworthy during the late 1980s.

I wonder if anyone watched this 2020 movie.
Most of its reviews were negative and this Japanese movie title is ridiculous af. I laughed hard.
" The Story of How I Flew a Cessna with My Ex-Boyfriend and The Pilot Died "
The film concentrates on a girl with her ex who desperately struggles to survive, flying a small plane over the Indian Ocean after the pilot suffered a fatal heart attack. I'll sub Netflix when I finish Disney+. >>> Must-watch list

Liam Neeson with Ice/Snow field reminds me of another movie I watched months ago.
This one is about a team of truck drivers on a dangerous mission over frozen lakes and winter roads to deliver a crucial component to save workers trapped in a collapsed diamond mine , not about plane though.

I watched it so many years ago on VHS videotape. All I remember is it's a great epic space program history (1947-1963) and the family lives of the people involved.
Look at the cast of this 1983 space gem, they are awesome and so young back then 40 years ago, a box-office bomb that was nominated for eight Oscars and won four of them.

Found a used DVD on Amazon at a reasonable price. ($2.00) considering buying it.

I didn't expect the movie to be this good.
The three lead female casts are awesome, and Kevin Costner is as great as ever even as a support character.
John Glenn (Ed Harris in The Right Stuff) was played by Glen Powell, who also played Hangman in Top Gun Maverick.
The two movies reminded me of another rocket movie.
The true story of Homer Hickam, a coal miner's son who was inspired by the first Sputnik launch to take up rocketry against his father's wishes The true story of Homer Hickam, a coal miner's son who was inspired by the first Sputnik launch to take up rocketry against his father's wishes
Not exactly Airplane movies but these are all great ones, time well spent.
