π₯ Movies About Airplanes π«π©οΈ
Just watched this one.
The movie is about a man, a woman, and a dog struggling to survive the aftermath of a plane crash on a mountaintop in the High Uintas Wilderness in a cold winter.
Misc knows better than me, so any recommendations about airplane movies?
Any movies that involve airplanes.

The Grey. I love this movie.
It is a great movie, but the ending is controversial.

I always liked βThe Right Stuffβ itβs about test pilots, itβs long, and it ends with space - but a lot of it is about planes and the dangers involved in testing faster and faster planes.
it was always a family favorite because my family was involved in some of this.

If you like old movies about air combat then you have Battle of Britain, Tora! Tora! Tora!, Midway, Memphis Belle etc.

The first film to ever win the oscar, Wings (1927) has some pretty cool flying sequences.
Airport (1970) & The Horror a 37,000 Feet (1973) if you are interested in campy, cheesy airplane disaster movies.
Royal Warriors (1986)…I wouldn't call it an airplane movie exactly, but the first 15 minutes has one of the all time great airplane action sequences of all time, and the rest of the movies has awesome action.

I just watched this new one pretty recently called Air Force One Down. It was ok. It was entertaining enough for me to finish the movie. Obviously there are some better ones already named in this thread.

Captains of the Clouds(1942)
It was the first full length feature movie shot completely in Canada, mostly in my Province.
Although not a movie, "The Odyssey of Flight 33" was an episode of the Twilight Zone from the early 1960's. The plane accidentally goes back in time. First to prehistoric times and then to 1939.
I have the complete Twilight Zone box set and may watch that episode later before my w/o.

My favorites, two were both starred by Dennis Quaid.
Flight of the Phoenix (2004)
a remake of the 1965 film.
Survivors of a plane crash in the Mongolian desert work together to build a new plane. Survivors of a plane crash in the Mongolian desert work together to build a new plane.
On a Wing and a Prayer (2023)
After their pilot dies unexpectedly mid-flight, Doug White (Dennis Quaid) has to safely land the plane and save his entire family… After their pilot dies unexpectedly mid-flight, Doug White (Dennis Quaid) has to safely land the plane and save his entire family…
Heather Graham is as beautiful as ever.

There is a low-budget 90s movie (well, two-part miniseries) called 'The Langoliers' based off the S King story. It features an airplane and is based primarily at an airport. It is pretty good for what it is.
Passenger 57
Air Force One
Snakes on a Plane
United 93 (not exactly enjoyable in the same way as the above given what it's based off, but a great watch in its own way)
Can we count movies like Die Hard 2? It is set at an airport and airplanes feature quite heavily.
