I honestly don't feel old at 34 and didn't feel out of place when I was at a college bar, but like I said the realization I was 10 years older maybe stand back a bit.

I was asking one of the biggest party schools reddit section about going out to college bars at my age and they said (the girls) that they would def know that I was 30+

They would find it weird and creepy

But I still want to do it since I missed out doing this all my 20s

The thing is, there are a ton of 30ish year old people in grad school and you wouldn't know they're 30 by looking at them. The people who you were pointing out as "old" were likely either balding/gray hair, or like 35+. I rent apartments to college students, and there have been quite a few that I assumed people were like 25-26 and were 31.

Trust me, it all depends on how you look. Same rules apply as with everything. If you show up well groomed and well dressed, you can be the "older guy" up to a certain age and not be some weirdo. If you show up with some shabby clothing and haven't shaved in a long time, it's unlikely.

Personally if I were you, I'd skip college bars and go to city bars instead.

Exactly. Even the frat guys are usually very tired of that scene by the time they're 22. As much as someone might want to experience that scene, it's really only fun if you're part of it. You can't just be some random dude showing up and expect to be welcomed with open arms. If you're super charasmatic it might work as a novelty thing for a while, but I don't get the feeling anybody here is like that.

I think it depends. I'm near SEC schools so these college bars are often filled with people who don't even go to the college.

I would not feel out of place going to these bars. In contrast it would be weird going to a frat party by comparison. So I get what you're saying, but it's not creepy unless you act creepy.

SEC is a different ballgame. Those girls would fuk a 40 year old rich guy in the bathroom. I had tons of female friends from the south who ended up getting married at age 28 to some guy who was 42. Age differences aren't as big of a deal there, and people are open to chatting with everyone.

What type of city do you live in? I mean, I'd recommend trying to make a friend group and go from there? At the very least, you can become a regular at a bar and start making connections from there…

I agree that those girls can tell older guys when in the younger 18-21 bar scene, but those same girls can't tell chit about age when they're not in that scene. I don't think you should go to college bars at all. I think you should find a bar for people in their 20s and become a regular. And maybe meet some people from work and branch out.

You live in a big city and seriously can't find a scene of people doing degenerate college-type partying? My brother lives outside of a city and has a child, and I guarantee I could go visit him and stay in the city and start drinking and after like 3-4 hours we'll find ourselves in some wild ass party shenanigans with people.
