People act like a call centre manager job is BS and easy, but i highly doubt many people could do it successfully:
- Managing over 50-100 people with individual problems
- Ensuring you get a good NPS score from customers / internal employees
- Managing complex services levels
- Managing stakeholders and partnerships
- Workforce optimization (calls/emails demand VS headcount)
- Legalities, code of conduct, anti-hawking etc.
- Managing catastrophes (depending on the type of call centre) eg: insurance (tornado has taken out a major city)
People just assume its just some pajeet office where you sit there getting paid big bucks and do nothing.
Im not a call centre manager but I work with them, and that chit gets real sometimes. People need to fk off slandering jobs and stop being jelly.
Every job has it difficulties and complexities.

Obviously being a manager or a customer service rep requires effort, but not the amount of skill and talent that being an engineer requires.
Being a bricklayer requires effort and dedication and some skill, but most people can do the job if they had to.
Any idiot can be trained to manage people who are all scared of getting fired and losing their source of income - very few people can successfully become engineers or architects.
My last manager was a PhD, but she wasn't managing a call centre - yet the director who was flogging work off at her was not as smart. She obviously just played the dirty machiavellian game.

I do not, but I've had situations where I could have done bad to someone who annoyed me and I restrained myself, where as my colleagues didn't. They would even go out of their way to abuse their power and authority on people who've done nothing.
Like I said, if the person I hypothetically manage made a snarky or smartass comment to me, I wouldn't get them fired over it - continued performance issues are something else altogether.
The other day my sister fired a girl who got dumped by her boyfriend and has been taking days off, etc, from the heartbreak - that's something I couldn't do.
I am smarter than my sister, but she just has no issues with sucking up to management and firing people for 'the company' hence why she's doing better than me.

I just find the level of narcissism that most managers possess to be lol worthy - they walk around with so much pride like they're astrophysicists or some sh*t when the job they do requires an IQ of 100 and the cunning of a prisoner or common criminal.

For example, corporate jobs have this thing where if you have a problem, you run to HR or your manager and snitch on that person like some little b*tch - or if your colleague doesn't do as much work as you, out of jealousy you report them to the manager. This is all it takes to get promoted and become a manager in these positions. To have the personality of a cockroach.
I've never ran to the police in my life even in life and death situations - a man handles sh*t on his own whether he lives or dies, let alone some sh*tty corporate job.

Here's what I don't understand. You say you have values and morals, which is why you're not more successful than your sister. That sounds like cope. What good is intelligence that you can't use? I'm very successful, and I have never had to screw anyone over, or kiss ass, or play politics.

Trust me, if you knew my sister, you wouldn't argue this point with me. She is my sister and I love her and am happy she's succeeding, but I'm not going to pretend like she smarter than the innumerable amount of masters graduates working shytty admin jobs. My manager with a PhD probably paid less and she has an IQ of 140-150.

How do you define useful intelligence? I'm not interested in whether you can pat your own back, I want quantifiable metrics. What do you have, what have you achieved that can show you're more intelligent than she is? So far she has more authority and more money than you do, that's quantifiable.

What is so intelligent about having a stressful job dealing with stressful people? I would rather work at a more simplistic job and collect a check from my boss at the end of the week, let him worry about the details. Money isn’t that important, I just need it to pay my bills, pay my rent, have enough to have a bit of fun on the weekend and that’s it. Some of the best things in life are free anyways.

I'm not one in a million, my eldest brother is an electrical engineer, which you have stated yourself you don't have the aptitude to complete. My youngest brother has a degree in accounting, which you have stated yourself you don't have the aptitude to complete, though he's also in IT and not an accountant.
If you want to compare yourself to me, that's fine. But you need to be a veteran, which you don't and wouldn't qualify for service because of your various mental illnesses. You need a highly technical job in a very technical field, which you don't have the aptitude to acquire. Fact of the matter is, if you could, you would, but you can't, so you come here and talk shyt where your sister can't see it so that she doesn't embarrass you again like she did last night at family dinner. That's why you made this thread, right?

I never asked about your family, I addressed your accusation. Also, you said you studied pre-med, so doesn't that mean you're just describing yourself? I disagree anyway, knowing how a cell works in and out from cell membrane to ATPase and having a mental model conceptualised in your mind requires more intellect than getting a psychology degree.
Unless you've studied biology extensively, you wouldn't even be able to launch past the first sentence on a decent research a paper.
No, I think that if I was focused and driven enough, I could become an EE. When i was really young, I loved making electronic circuits and tesla coils, etc.

I don't need to get mad, because when it comes to what can be proven, I'm at a level you'll never reach. You make these kinds of threads every day, and you end up getting embarrassed every day. I still don't get how you're so smart, yet have accomplished so little in life. One more time, what good is intelligence that can't be used?
You're like that guy who lost a thumb drive with 200 billion in bitcoin in it. Theoretically he's one of the richest people in the world, but as it stands, he's just some loser digging through garbage every day and mumbling about how rich he'll be. Theoretically you're a genius, in reality you will hold your tongue when your sister is around, lest you get beaten with the reality that you're just a poverton.

Either way getting rich off of bitcoin doesn't mean anything, unless you litirally programmed bitcoin. Having a forward thinking software company succeed is a sign of something more than just getting lucky with timing, or at least getting lucky with some intellect.

When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

You accused me of not being smarter than my sister and I addressed your accusation. I have no issues admitting someone is smarter than me.

Bodhy has a PHD. You don't need to be smart to have a PHD, and not all engineering is equal. One more time, how do you define and quantify intelligence?
Also I disagree, you need to be very smart to have a PhD - it's not something an average person can achieve. In this instance, memory recall, abstract thinking, and problem solving ability.
My manager is PhD in electrical engineering - she has an IQ of 150ish.

I know a lot of people with advanced degrees, and they're all in very high up positions making crazy money with crazy perks.
The guy who calls himself the smartest man in the world is a bouncer in Wyoming, what good is all that intelligence doing him?

I personally don't care about what others do or where they work because I'm actually confident in my life. Also, it's a bit ironic calling people who work corporate jobs losers or pathetic yet you feel the need to constantly make threads subtly stroking your own ego…are you trying to convince us or yourself? Also, this whole judging thing…the whole vanity thing…not very Christian is it?

That doesn't mean they are smarter or more noble than anybody else. They just have no qualm about doing something immoral to have it over someone.
