Okay so this doesn't make sense. Your entire misc career on here has been pushing the idea of being a landlord and mogger, constantly showing how you have like 1 mil cash in your bank account, and practically a ceo/10k a day. Plus you're not even working right now.

So if that's all correct, why would your wife ever have to go back to work in any way unless you've just been larping? Because anyone else I know where the guy makes even decent money, his wife is a stay at home mom because having someone else raise your kids is absurd unless you're really not able to. Plus your mom lives with you and is helping raise the kids? 2 kids? But you're going to piss out 100k for someone else to raise your kids?

If we provide accomodation and food then the actual cash salary would be around $50,000

Some of them apparently do light housekeeping but we have cleaners and meal delivery service so whatever

Pros:
-mum would have another person to talk to when she’s here
-live in help/babysitter
-we have a massive house anyway so losing 1 brm/1 bath is nbd
-kids can get more consistent exposure to Russian language
-don’t have to walk kids to daycare or worry about them picking up random viruses

Cons:
?
I've been thinking the same thing actually. Crazy how hiring a live in caretaker is cheaper than decent daycare.

So then you're both just retarded? Or….

What am I missing here?

Either spend 100k a year which is meaningless monetarily for a mogger couple making millions a year….right?

Or 1 person just works…making 7 figures, and the wife and mother take care of the kids.

Either way the fact you'd rather both go back to work for money and let someone else raise your kid most of the day is genuinely retarded.

I refuse to believe your day care is $100K?

I have two kids who go 4 days a week in Sydney (brand new day care) and its $42K a year…

How is it actually that high?

Assuming:
-2 kids both 5 days a week
-Zero childcare subsidy

Do you qualify for any subsidy?

Our daycare is slightly more than some others in the area because they feed them and provide nappies and have slightly earlier drop offs and slightly later pickups

Plus it’s just an expensive area I suppose

Not going to go back on a wait list for a year to save a few bucks

This year we are aiming at $0 in reportable income so get the maximum subsidy which is like 90 or 95 per cent (so in this scenario childcare is basically free)

If either of us are working in our regular jobs, or take paid leave, or make a profit distribution from the company to ourselves in that (personal) income year, we get no subsidy at all

It is weird, it'd be best if the you had a separate guest house. My mother has a house with a live in maid suite. It's attached to the house but has a separate entrance and can only be accessed via that entrance and not from within the main house.

A nanny is different to a maid, due to the kid's attachment. Do you have them join you for dinner, or do they eat in their quarters; not with the kids? Do you let them use the media room? Do you let them use the pool etc?

Kids get attached to them and they became something between the kid's friend and their "aunt". The normal boundaries between employer and employee don't work.

To me, the whole thing seems like a colossal pain in the arse.

We have a nanny, but she's not living with us - I'd never want someone else living with us like that.

Au pairs are common in my social circles - I'm surprised more don't get smashed by the fathers to be honest.

Wife works as a nanny. she doesn't cook or clean the house, except occasionally cooks for the kid only. she basically takes them to school and picks them up and takes them to whatever extra activities they have. its just one kid and he's like 5-6 i think. also she have a car for her to use. so she doesn't have to use hers. beisdes driving to their house and driving home

What kind of hours does your wife work

What hours is your nanny working and how much do you pay her, if you’re happy to share

I'd rather get a maid and take care of my kid myself. Which is probably what I'll end up doing.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

They work from home. So i assume they need someone to keep an eye on the kid during those hours, since he's already an age where he's walking and talking. so it's not like a baby you can put in a play pen. but yeah i agree i would rather take care of the kid myself but if we both had careers that took up our mornings. i would rather what the people who pay the wife do.

Looking after kids is exhausting

The “little” one doesn’t sleep consistently so nobody else sleeps either

Maybe I’ll think differently about it in a year or so when I’ve had a nap
