I brought bear spray for a fishing trip near yellowstone a few months back and I was paranoid the entire time knowing that the only thing that will realistically stop a determined bear is a gun.
Edit: already answered. Still think a gun would be better.

Would rather have a Glock 40 in that country than something that’ll blind both me and everyone around me while a bear mauls me to death

Made some food, sat on a nice flat rock and chilled for a bit and had a beer, then got in my tent with the fly open to get a view of the glacier and read a novel that I picked up at the airport (Stephen King’s Bag of Bones- horrible choice if you’re camping alone in the middle of nowhere)So you truck along all day, then set up the tent and crash? How long were your days? Once you settled in you chill by the fire and read or something?

What brand of shoes did you wear for that?
I have Wolverines with Durashock soles that are from something like 2015 and they are still great.

Glad you came back safely.
Thanks for sharing your great trek experience and the awesome scenery.
BTW, how much weight did you carry in your backpack with all the provisions and camping gear?
