You can miss the bear with a gun when it’s charging though, only have a split second. Hard to miss when you’re spraying the chit out of it from 10ft away

There’s only been like 20 bear fatalities in Canada the last couple decades srs. Less than one weekend in Chicago lol

Pretty much. First day was the longest, around 12 hours of trekking- got to the campsite around 6. It was by a stream so I made camp, set my stove around 100m upstream and made a bear hang there (to keep the bears away from my tent). Made some food, sat on a nice flat rock and chilled for a bit and had a beer, then got in my tent with the fly open to get a view of the glacier and read a novel that I picked up at the airport (Stephen King’s Bag of Bones- horrible choice if you’re camping alone in the middle of nowhere)

Never had issues with blisters once I got properly fitted trekking boots

I am a boot fanatic.

What brand of shoes did you wear for that?

I have Wolverines with Durashock soles that are from something like 2015 and they are still great.
