It gave me more chin projection and a slightly longer face. No regrets. My side profile, chin area went from sub human to the bottom end of average. So if I did have to shave my beard, i wouldn't look like a goonie. Worth it, especially if DJS isn't the option and you need lower projection and dont want plastic/silicone if your face. Sliding Genio is bone to bone.
I'd say do whatever you want to do, but be careful. We always move the goalposts whenever we get or achieve something. Were you planning on doing this surgery before you got the first one?

no i didnt want to get a DJS originally, as i was hoping the advancement would be a bit more, but they pretty much maxed out what they could do on the genio, even with a revision. My surgeon stressed i need the DJS and not more chin advancement. I'm not 100% happy with the sliding genio, as it didnt give me as much projection as i hoped for, but i am still greatful for what it did. I have a larger masculine nose, and a good forehead projection too, so i look good with a beard to keep my face balanced. I need more lower projection still, the sliding genio improved greatly but it wasnt enough to make me look better without the beard.

Also, dont forget, i have sleep apnea too, think about the health benefits. I've been strangled in my sleep my entire life. Always tired in the morning. I fight it cause i m super healthy/atheltic, but the apnea is a leech on my life, holding me back from being 100%.

For sleep apnea, I support it.

I am trying to fix my own problems currently. I think all my symptoms are because of it. I do have a deviated septum and might have a recessed lower half too which might cause problems too.
First thing i'm gonna do this week is talk to sleep dr for a followup and see about a surgery my brother did. "Uppp" I think it is. They cut some flesh in your throat to open it up a bit. If theres no downsides, may as well.
Sleep apnea can basically slowly kill you / your brain. I felt like I haven't been alive the past 4ish years now and brain is at like 30% power

If you're up for it, then go for it. It sounds like it's win-win.

I'll discuss every possible cause for sleep apnea with the sleep dr this week. Havent really looked into my jaw etc.
All ive done was a sleep study so far. Didnt think my problems could really be from apnea but now its the last thing to look into.
If something like that was covered (free) like upp is here, id def consider it. Deviated septum would be a must if it was covered too. Just have to prove its for breathing purposes and not aesthetics and they will let ohip cover it too.
