Just enough str and dex for equipment and the rest into vit. Too early to worry about block so I only needed 41/35. Switched to that unique scimitar for the resists but my main weapon was a Steel runeword in a flail.

Im at level 12 Barbarian died a few times playing solo, got to the forgotten tower level 4 and died. What build should I run in the retail release when it drops? Stick with Barbarian or go for something else whats the most n00b and solo best?

i solely play solo now. I tried group questing during open beta. I felt rushed and dirty. Will only group quest seldomly

I would run Frenzy build for leveling if I was playin barb

Summon necro might be pretty good as a starter as ur minions take care of everything while u stand back

I'm starting as a sorc personally. For dat der teleport/static field. They are a bit of glass cannons but if you can get past that they are indeed one of the best to start with

As a noob you are going to die regardless though, just wait until you get to hell modejealous of anyone that goes through D2 as a first playthrough, those are some of the best times learning everything

That dude MrLLama figured out how to get insight and spirit runewords on the beta. Pretty sure he had is fans supply him with the runes but there is a very complicated process of acquiring items that early that have enough sockets.

The cube recipe possibilities are crazy.

there was a twitch player during early beta who spent like two days only farming countess. he had a ton of all kinds of runes. even ruined an amn trying to make some runeword. i think at that point ladder rune words weren't enabled for non-ladder.

Any words when the league will start? Not even as ballpark figure? If it's more than a month after release then I won't bother but if its like 1-2 weeks then I will.

I think D2 has too many rare runewords and items, 3 months doesn't seem long enough to establish a full empire of economy and levels.

I don't expect them to announce anything. At the moment they said that they're focusing on squashing as many bugs as possible before release. They'll focus (if they decide to) on other things after release. I'm sure there will be tons of other issues that will come up after release anyway, because more people will probably be playing.

It won't make much of a difference if there's a ladder or not, because the only purpose it will serve now is to allow people to rush to top spot. Both ladder and non-ladder will have same gear and rune words. The only advantage the ladder will offer is a countermeasure against potential duping once the season comes to an end. Top gear will take a while to accumulate, but setting up a decent farming sorc shouldn't take more than a week.

I imagine some of it will be streamers or people donating to streamers too. "FIRST ENIGMA ON D2R!" could get a few thousand viewers srs.

Never spent real money but I used to grind the start of ladder seasons when I was in HS, sell everything for forum gold, then come back in like a month and buy pvp gear.

There will likely be a disgusting amount of botting (more than in og d2 era), and Chinese farmers that are happy to farm hours on end in a heavily mapped out game that's been entirely figured out. Playing 16 hours a day to farm out gear you can sell for $50-$100 is a huge win to these typical Chinese gold farmers.

I'm also guessing a lot of people will be RMT (real money trading) on the down low. Stimulus / unemployment checks and inflation of USD is very good for farmers/botters that sell chit. Also just following current video game trends (RMT rampant in PoE, P2W/carries and mass botting in WoW classic+retail, $$$ for skins/lootboxes/exp boosts/exclusive items in other games)

Curious if a maphack is gonna be out. Was too young and retarded to properly bot or RMT back in the day, but i cant imagine my d2 memories w/o maphack

cant really profit off of jsp site since money can be put in but can't be taken out. i saw some sites that i found through google selling stuff but they looked sketchy.

i doubt enigma will be available after a day or two, though if someone decides to spend money on it, then it's possible. other stuff such as uniques will probably be available very quickly. i tried d2lod with plugy on single player (i'm assuming aside from addon functions that the game exp/item find was still vanilla?), and had some ok magic find gear + spirit crystal sword on a blizzard sorc by the time i hit level 35 in normal difficulty. after that point you can just do magic find runs on diablo + baal, and whatever else until you've hit 50-60, and move on to nightmare and then on to hell where the real fun begins.

don't know what's gonna happen with botting and duping. hopefully the game being on a newer version of b.net will keep them to a minimum.

a good video for those of you new, or getting back into D2 after a long time



it's long, but I think worth a watch and mildly entertaining. I just have it in the background at work or when playing other games. A lot of nice neat little tricks/tidbits, some stuff I didn't even know. Problem is, there's a lot of guides and videos with end game builds, items, etc. But there's a lack of videos showing how to level, what builds you should go before end-game, what item modifiers are valuable and just a lot of tips in general.

Not done watching and he has nightmare/hell vids so some cliffs so far, specifically for Sorc

- pump all stats into vit, maybe some into energy as needed, only enough str/dex to equip gear
- resists except poison, +life +mana, mana leech/recovery/on kill, faster cast, fast hit recovery, + to skills, magic find are priority stats
- poison resist, defense, str/dex, attack speed, block rate, attack rating stamina generally not useful
- teleport/static field on bosses OP
- start off with lightning/fire builds initially, can respec into cold later if you want to be a Blizzsorc
- specific rune words like stealth can be helpful as a low level, or socketing items with magic find, health, mana gems
- keep lots of health/mana potions

I will probably farm items for the first couple months and then just buy all the gear I am missing for $$$. Most OG Diablo players are in their 30s now making over 6 figures so its easier just to buy gear

It should work. I tested out the cross progression from PS5 to PC and had no issues.
