Cool daily/casual watch for a guy like him. I love Kobe, but he wore the absolute ugliest watches ever.
As for 3Q/4Q watch buys… if you're looking to buy non-rolex in the grey market, it'll probably be an awesome time to buy. But I recall reading rolex suspended production for a couple weeks because of Covid, so if anything Rolex prices will stay the same. I'm gonna spend the rest of the year building my downpayment stash for a property. My close friend is in real estate and she's already seeing a substantial influx of properties as Boomers look to liquidate their portfolio

Audemars Piguet, the absolute king of making watches I'd love to be given but would never in a million years purchase myself. First the Code 11 and now this one. I actually think the color tones and design are quite "smart". Great business-casual summer watch. 70 Hour power reserve, 40mm, case made of steel and "pink gold". That all sounds great but for

? There's 2 if not 3 A Lange's i'd purchase for half the price before that.

darn shame if that were in all pink gold, it would be really nice. the two-tone is executed very strangely and the price is to high. $55k for a full gold-gold inhouse chrono from AP is pretty fair.

That dial looks amazing like a burnt parchment look and the font at 12 is perfect. Lugs are kind of weird and I don't like the strap unless it breaks in (which I think it will) to match the watch. I would like that strap to look ugly. Beautiful looking watch.

In the Hodinkee article about that AP above it says the case is SS and pink gold, but this pic shows it stamped 18k on the supposedly SS part.

H Moser possibly could have had the hottest watch of 2020, if they had just set this watch up with a running seconds hand that was silver/off-white/grey to offset the Vanta Black dial. If you haven’t heard of vanta black just YouTube what the color does on cars. Looks so sick. But yeah having a running seconds to capture your eye while you’re lost in the VB would have been amazing in my opinion.
I’m actually gonna give Tag Heuer a golf clap for their poverty blnr. I was inclined to post it and rip it to shreds, but like… they’re not trying to be anything they’re not. They didn’t go get an in house movement. It’s still an entry level ETA. They didn’t put some gimmick feature on it and price it at $5,000. They’re just like “Hey everyone… here’s our poverty BLNR with Tag-ish designs, 300m water resistance, and a steel bracelet for 3 grand”. I kinda can’t fault them for that. Then when you consider Breitling’s Avenger GMT looks like it was co-created by TAPOUT clothing, Tudor’s GMT has ugly proportions, and no one buys Omega’s GMT aqua terra because it messes up the perfect aesthetics of the OG Aqua terra… Tag’s poverty blnr selling for $2500 grey market is pretty solid as a beater in my opinion.

I feel like people who wear Tags more or less know what they are (cheapy swiss watches with decent finishing). They do great dials, but to me they're mostly interesting to look at but not want to own. That four seasons is noice though. AD wanted to sell me a snowflake dial and that was legitimately beautiful.

I really hope they make it into a modern event. I think hodinkee said baselworld has existed since 1930 something. Old ass boring trade show meant for placing large dealer orders, fukall for actual enthusiasts.
