Great win. Going to be tough for the Niners to keep up if they can't get pressure on Mahomes. Our corners aren't good enough to stay with the KC wrs' speed.

I guess it's a good thing that if he has to throw for 350 yards and 4 TDs like he did against the Saints he can huh?

Who's cherry picking? That was an example of a game where the run got shut down and he had to throw it. If the run's working, Shanahan is going to run. If it's not, they're going to pass. You're acting like Jimmy G can't throw at all. He can, but the 9ers are a run first offense

Even so, Jimmy was 12th in passing yards this year, 4th in completion percentage, 6th in TDs, 3rd in yards/attempt, 8th in QB rating and 1st in 1st down conversions. That's with a team that is ranked 30th in pass attempts, so very obviously a run first offense

Any other retarded commentary?

You realize that QB rating and QBR are two separate stats right dumbass?

https://www.pro-football-reference.c...19/passing.htm

See the difference there between rate and QBR?

Also, where are you getting your stat for 7th in 1st down %?

http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/l...8&type=Passing

Anything else retard or are you ready to exit our thread and go back to that **** hole bears thread?

Not seeing the 1st down % on that page. Screenshot it and point it out?

And yeah, he's throw some INTs. Mostly in the 1st half of the season, and a decent amount of them tipped off receiver's hands, receivers dropping / missing balls was a huge issue in the 1st half of the season as well. 2nd half of the season has been much better

Why are you in this thread? Don’t you have draft prep to do? Stop trolling official team threads. If you have something to say make a thread and keep your idiocy out of here.

Ignore that fuking idiot. If he wants to troll and post nonsense then let him do it somewhere else. Don’t want this thread turning into the potato fest that makes up 90% of sport Misc threads.

Impressed by KyleS maturity as a coach… if the run is working no need to throw the ball, run it down their throw until they stop it consistently.

Jimmy can throw and make things happen when necessary (saints) -

PatM is a BAD MAN but that 49ers front 4 is no joke - their D is not as good as 49 D so that could and should be the deciding factor.

I knew that Raheem Mostert was fast but he blew by people like a Ferrari yesterday. He had Jerry Rice going nuts on the sidelines. A very impressive performance at 220 yards and 4 tds.

I was ecstatic especially in that first half, it went better than expected. I was a little annoyed we let them come back with our soft defense that we always play when we are up, but I understand that Kyle probably didn't want to risk injury and he doesn't care about winning by a large margin

We look stronger than ever heading into the SB, but so do the Chiefs

I'm hoping the 49ers front 4 is able to get pressure on Mahomes while they have 1 of the LB spy him. Titans did a decent job at first but fell apart at the end. I think the 49ers can replicate that but hopefully have better success offensively in the 2nd half than the Titans did.

The Niners have shown they can beat you in a lot of different ways.

As much as the Chiefs offense is scary I love that the narrative going into this game is the same it's been all year. We all know how well that's played out for us.

I can't wait to see it play out and may the best team win. I don't think we need to do anything special against them just play our game and if they win so be it but I like our chances if we just play our brand of football on both sides of the ball.

I think we have the defense to matchup with them and I know our offense is going to be able to move the ball and score on them. We're solid on special teams and they have good return guys so gotta be smart there. I just think we gotta go in there prepared and confident and play 49ers football and the rest will fall into place.

God the wait for this game is going to be too much.

The Official team threads are for fans talking about their team. Not for debate threads. It cuts down on reports. There's plenty of open threads to sling the digs.

Definitely plenty of threads of people sh*tting on Garoppolo so that guy can take his burner account there.

This wait is gonna suck but I'm glad we get to wait for another game. As an NFL fan this SB matchup is great IMO.

As a 49ers fan…I'm nervous as fuk. Mahomes makes plays like what Wilson used to do to our Harbaugh defenses but better. We'd have it all covered, and looks like he's gonna take a sack…next thing you know it's a huge play.

Makes it very demoralizing for the defense.

Thankfully unlike those Harbaugh teams our offense isn't so cut and dry and I'm confident Kyle will have a great game plan in order for us to keep pace.

Our defense won't shut down their offense but they just need to make enough key plays to be the difference. I expect a similar game to the Saints game with hopefully the same result.

No matter what happens I'm so proud of this team and what they have been able to do this season.

Senior Bowl to Super Bowl…I don't think the biggest homers thought we'd be in this position right now.

Congrats 49ers crew. Wish I knew the feeling, lol..

I'm really excited for this game. Great offense vs. great defense. Green Bay's run defense was abysmal, and Rodgers looked very dejected the entire game. I used to be a big fan, but it's becoming quite obvious he is not a leader. Great talent, but it ends there.

I think the biggest challenge for the 49ers will be matching the speed of the WRs for KC. They need to keep pressure on Mahomes if they don't want this game to become a track meet, which would not be in the 49ers favor.

After watching all those close nail biter games with endless injuries, i feel at full strength we can hand the ball to or pass to anyone with 2 weeks to prepare. Jimmy G is one hell of a smiling game manager and i am over my skepticism. If we need to pass on the KC defense we can, if we need to run we can do that. This reminds me of the old day 49ers where Montana and Young had many options to make points.

Great sportsmanship reps.

Jimmy G is really cool in the big games. The stage isn't too big for him. For the 9ers, the defensive strategy is pretty basic. Gotta contain Mahomes. We've seen how much damage he can do in 1 quarter if he gets hot. Both of these guys are young, and they are playing on the biggest stage so anything can happen.

I think the 49ers offense is better than it gets credit for. Not as explosive as KC, but capable of putting up points and yards. If KC can't stop the ground game, it will be a long day for them. Mahomes can't toss TDs sitting on the bench.

Great points and recall that many of the wr's have been blocking for the last 6 quarters not running routes. Dudes should be rested and ready to catch.
I don't underestimate Mahomes at all, but i think we can go tit for tat and we have a great Defense.
Either way it won't be a 3-0 halftime score like last year, or whatever low score it was.

I don't think JimmyG is a elite by any means, but I think he is getting WAY too much heat leading up to the big game. As a Viking fan myself, I put him on a similar level as Cousins (though Jimmy is younger and can still improve). In summary….

-Jimmy DOES understand how to read a defense and know where to throw the ball (similar to Cousins). That is really something you either have or don't have.

-Jimmy is not a running QB, but he has better footwork than Kirk in the pocket and better instincts to avoid a pass rush buying him more time.

-The one thing I will give Kirk over Jimmy is just overall accuracy. While Jimmy knows WHERE to throw the ball on most dropbacks, he might air-mail a pass here and there OR overestimate his accuracy threading a needle on a pass. Will that burn him against KC (i.e. not a very good defense)? Remains to be seen…..

All I know is if I am Shanahan–I actually come out throwing right away vs KC, since they will undoubtedly be selling out to stop the run by stacking the box and blitzing the Honey Badger. Complete some passes and burn them a few times–THEN hit the run game hard.

As for the long wait the bye week is great for this team to prepare, rest, and get healthy. Getting that 1 seed has paid off for us and now we get another bye week before the biggest game of the year.

I really think at first we should do what we've been doing and just run the hell out of the ball. I don't think the Chiefs can stop it and the nice thing is if we start that way and use play action it will be effective since they're going to be expecting run. I think this team would love nothing more than winning a SB the same way we've won these last two games. I would ****ing love it and the fact at how outraged it would make everyone else would be glorious. Let's win the SB and still have people talking about if Jimmy can win us a big game…

As for defense we have to pressure QB its simple as that. We have great coverage TE and S to watch Kelce other than that just limit the over the top plays. Even if they get some chunk plays don't give up TD's on big plays. Make them earn it in the red zone, which they haven't been great at this year supposedly. I think the nice thing is we don't have to worry about a run game with them, just have to watch for lots of misdirection and speed and big plays. Mahomes is a talent and a half so if he makes plays so be it but we just gotta focus on getting to him and thats the biggest key on defense.

I cannot believe we made it this far. I was hoping for an 8-8 season. This next game will be a really hard test. We need to keep Mahomes off the field. Not sure how the defense will make that happen.

Offensively they need to put up points but also try to control the clock. I almost expect the Chiefs to sell out to stop the run which could open up to play-action and some other passing.

so look here at week 8

http://www.nfl.com/schedules/2019/REG/49ers

About that time we started seeing Jimmy pass more and WIN the games in Green Bay, Seattle, New Orleans, LA, and Seattle again.

Feeling good no matter what Kyle draws up.
There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and…It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

I think they'll follow a similar approach to what they did vs GB. Try the run first to see how it goes, then hit them with some passes then open up the run and see if they can stop it.

Basically at this point KC will have to stop the run and then 49ers will open things up.

I don't think the Cousins comparison is bad. They matched up pretty similar this season the thing Jimmy has going for him is he has way less experience to grow as a QB, still not fully recovered from his ACL injury(usually takes 2 full years for guys to be 100%)…I got so nervous when Clark fell on his knee in the game…hopefully it was just a fear thing with Jimmy on that play. Looked like he cried out from the pain but very likely that knee brace saved a big injury.

The things that Jimmy doesn't do as well at QB are things experience will clear up - like looking guys off to ensure lanes are open. Seeing guys who break off their spots, sometimes this is unavoidable and even the greats deal with it at times. You make the assumption that the defenders will be where they should be given the call so if someone "fuks" up but finds themselves in a passing lane there's not much you can do about it.
