Just liquidated all of my stock positions. A week or two ago I only moved about 5 years worth of living expenses into a cash position. A few minutes ago I liquidated the rest. Vaccine mandates and passports, rampant crime that is only going to get worse, impending lockdowns, etc., have made me take my ball and go home.

Couple that with the wife most likely losing her career soon over a vax mandate that she won't be complying with, and my future is looking very, very uncertain. It is best for me to have access to as much safe money as I possibly can. If I can't figure out a good, profitable, sustainable business to start, we'll probably be selling our home and everything else, buying a cabin in the woods, and living off of our savings for the next 20 years. I think time to check out of broad society is rapidly approaching for us.

This was a great thread to lurk in and I learned a ton from it. If things change going forward for my future i'll put it all right back into the market. For these uncertain times however, having my money unaffected by the stock market is the best thing for me. Godspeed fellas, it's been a good run in the market, my time has come to bow out.

Society is much different today, than it was back then. My country failed me. Not allowing me to make an honest living without forcing me to take an experimental vaccine is a travesty. I get to choose what I put in my body. If this means that I have to disconnect from society at large and live life like a recluse, then I guess that's what i'll have to do. I'm hopeful that common sense will prevail before then and we will all have the option to just get tested weekly if we don't want to vaccinate. If this doesn't happen then i'll stand on my principles and just disconnect from society as much as I need.

I don't think so. I'm not working right now and my wife is going to most likely be losing her career. Future looking pretty bleak for us right now. I left my job last year to finish my education and start a new career, but it's really unlikely i'll be able to find work in the "corporate" world without getting vaccinated. Right now i'm trying to land a blue collar type job which will most likely be the only part of society nobody will force to get vaccinated. Like I said, when/if things change from an employment perspective, i'll dump it all back in.

Just LOL @ liquidating all positions into cash right now. Remember what happened to tech growth during the previous lockdown? It went directly to the moon.

EDIT: Just saw you're out of work. That changes things.

How hard is it to pretend your vaccinated, just order a card of eBay or print one up yourself and keep the job, how could they prove otherwise it’s just an hr checkbox like “ability to perform work in the United States”

My gym sent out an email saying they've decided to make all members show a one time proof that they've been vaccinated in order to keep working out without a mask. This is EXACTLY what i'm doing.

Will be a felony soon if you get caught with fake papers. Two people just got fined 25k for trying to enter Canada with fake papers.

If they didn't care about fake papers, they wouldn't be pushing so hard for vaccines. Something light like the gym or a restaurant will accept fake papers with no questions. A job, or any other real thing you need it for will not accept fake papers and will report you for trying to fake it.

You don't actually think they're going to allow millions of people to use fake vaccine passports do you? I think the only realistic option is to bribe someone at walmart or any other place where they're making 10 bucks an hour to give you the shot. The problem with this is two-fold. First, if your 1k cash isn't enough to buy the tech, or you get someone who is really by the book, you're ****ed for trying. Second, is I feel like those of us really against the vaccine have a moral obligation to resist so the number of unvaccinated stays large. As that number shrinks, the unvaccinated face more and more pressure and i'm sure violence from vaccinated because we're being blamed for all of this.

Dear diary.
Never, in any of those times, were people who wanted to work, not allowed to do so. People who refuse to be vaccinated are going to be completely shut out of society. This is not the same thing. There have always been hard times. But we have always had autonomy over our body and the ability to work hard if we wanted to raise our situation. Young, healthy people are going to be forced to relinquish their ability to earn if they choose not to get vaccinated. Stop comparing these things. They are not the same.

This stress over the COVID vaccine is completely unnecessary, just wild to think about the chit going on right now over it

Up here north of the border, it feels like the doubt is much less present. Even in my conservative province, vaccination rates are quite high.

In fact, the combination of high vaccination rates + conservative leanings in Alberta means that people who test positive for COVID won’t even be required to isolate after August 16th. Our health authority has even changed the terminology they’re using: the pandemic is over, this is now endemic aka just like the flu.

Blows my mind that people are subjecting themselves to so much more pain because they have that little trust in their establishment

It's looking like 440 is going to be the top for the day, so i'm probably going to be looking at 439 or 438 puts with a 7 day expiration. Many times I end up taking profit next day, but that's what i like. Consistent single and double base hits throughout the month.

How can you when "the establishment" is posting fear mongering bull**** like this?

TRANSLATION:survival rate without the vaccine is 99.800% vs 99.999% with the vaccine.

"Hey bro there's this weird flu going around, if you catch it you'll have a 99.8% of survival. However, you'll have a 99.999% of survival if you take this super rushed, non-FDA approved vaccine created by companies who aren't liable for long term side effects"

How anyone is NOT suspicious of this grandiose campaign for vaccination is beyond me.

Are you aware that the only reason they haven't done any real studies on the effectiveness of Ivermectin as a treatment, and silencing any information on it is because if they found a treatment for Covid they would have to completely stop giving out vaccines? Its so blatantly obvious that this is 100% a cash grab from big pharma and a power grab from the government. Anyone who doesn't see that at this point is just blind.

Knowing this, principles alone are enough to resist. Then couple that with all of the misinformation and incredible hypocrisy from day one from the cdc, our politicians, and the media, and there is no way i'm willing to take this shot. Nevermind the whole idea that allowing the government to mandate what we put into our bodies is a very dangerous precedent to set.

Anyone who wants it, good for you. Mandating it for those that don't and saying that they can't make a living if they don't get it is an abomination and a very dangerous path to go down.

Wow just got an email from the ceo, everyone has to be vaccinated by sep 30. Too bad such a requirement is not legal in my state (Oregon).
