640K shares block trade at AMD $121 went through.

ie someone probably just took profit and sold $80ish million worth of AMD.

now if there is logic in stock market AMD would go retest $105 level and than consolidate to go at $130 at some point in future.

all that being said.

amd volume is nuts…option volume is nuts. nothing but calls.

it might take a while for this thing to resolve itself.

would not be trying to time this at all.

those contracts are worth $100 as amd again touching $120.

considering your post about crsr options into earnings I suggest you stay clear since you're gambling and not trading.

You dont buy all at once, that's how you not worry about the rug being pulled out ruggy.

If you have 10k to spend (or hell i dunno maybe a few hundred bucks like KingSWRV), you dont go balls deep from the get go. Maybe 1-2k at a time on each big red dildo day.

calm down ruggy

what was potential large gain on CRSR to go from $100 to $2K….odds of that is like lottery ticket…when you flip $100 to $400-500 on option.

you get cocky and do it over and over.

don't equate gambling and investing.

Really dangerous move to put that much on the line.

I would have gone way further otm for cheaper puts ie $110P where you risk would be very small.

Advice don't do that often srs.

HOOD strikes already showing $95 written.

max was $70C this morning.

if they start buying $95C volume / OI goes nuts they can pull that shiit up there with pure options.

only touch stock imo and use stop loss.

anyways - CRSR has been pinned to the $30 range for some time. There was speculation that since LOGI's highest sales from it's ER last week was in the gaming sector, that CRSR would have favorable earnings. I bought $35C for 8/20 expiry, wasn't expecting a huge gain, but looking at what AMD did, it wasn't out of the realm of possibility. The total play was maybe 0.5% of my account lol, very small risk. I'm aware it's not trading at it's true valuation as well, but you know how the market is right now. No cockiness..

Anyways, gambling, investing, trading, nobody knows what's going to happen tomorrow, at best someone with more information is gambling with better odds than someone with less information.

So you go from here.

CRSR is stay home play.

where was the big move. when we were in lockdown.

Aug 3, 2021 BMO -6.4%
May 4, 2021 BMO -2.5%
Feb 9, 2021 BMO -2.8%
Nov 10, 2020 BMO +6.3%

look at LOGI

Jul 26, 2021 AMC -10.3%
Apr 28, 2021 AMC -2.7%
Jan 18, 2021 AMC -3.2%
Oct 19, 2020 AMC +15.8%

if that -10 on logi wasn't give away that CRSR was going to do same shiit than I don't what else could have told you.

AMD and CRSR is not comparable.

computer cases / keyboards / power supply is not same.

if you ain't going to do your own dd before gambling and trusting what speculation is predicting I have some bad news for you.

faster you learn that you need to make your own calls the better you will be at trading.

it is gonna be the greatest rug pull of all time…

no thx lol

btw: coin to test again that 244-248 range… keep an eye on it cause if it doesn't break it then it will prob go down to mid 230s again but if it doesn't then look at 249 - it could be a nice put play eow or beggining of next week

CRSR chart is ugly.

Also earnings is gambling. 9/10 times its priced in.

I am at office (atm) no more stay at home so can't trade options. I come home after market is closed.

You want to buy whats trending rather than praying it will go where you think it will go. (if you go back many pages I told you AMD above previous ath was gonna be hell of trade)

AMD is probably peaking atm so you're chasing if you want in.

Also running into earnings IV for anything will be jacked because market maker needs to make sure they are hedged correctly.

Pro trader will likely do iron condor or spreads and never straight up options on anything that they want to speculate earnings on.

From charting you want to look at two things.

The run up and sell off after earnings. look at FB chart

Drop after earnings than someone starts buying ie AMD chart.

edit: since I am being nice.

review this page hard.

https://finviz.com/quote.ashx?t=FB

go here check the metrics etc
https://wallmine.com/nasdaq/fb

look at price targets

that eps profit roa etc.

even with poor guidance due to apple privacy thing after earnings sell off.

FB never even touched 50 SMA. someone already buying it up

if FB breaks over ath which could be about to test next week. what can you do? buy the ****ing stock.

money is money as shiit bag zuck is.

we are here to make money.

would recommend XLNX if you're long on AMD. I actually trimmed my long-term AMD shares today and put it into XLNX

If you truly believe the AMD-XLNX merge will go through (pending China's regulatory approval currently), then XLNX represents the ability to purchase AMD at ~$84/share. Basically, once the merge goes through, each share of XLNX will be converted to 1.73 shares of AMD. The XLNX/AMD price ratio has tanked the past couple days as investors who initiated this position months ago (short AMD, long XLNX) were margin called as AMD shares have shot up 25% in the past week (while XLNX remains flat over the past week) and have been forced to sell their XLNX to pay off their AMD shorts

This charts shows two things:
(1) investors do not think AMD will remain close to the $120 price point by the time the deal goes through (this is represented by the price ratio decreasing from ~1.55 to ~1.3 the past few days)
(2) investors are hesitant the deal will go through at all (this is represented by the spread between the ~1.55 price ratio that has been seen over the past several months compared to the 1.73 price ratio represented by the merge)
