FYI there’s a pretty active place where people post watches they are wearing daily. It’s in the Omega forums, and the thread is called WRUW. It’s a nice place to kill time and see many unique watches. It’s a nice group, and 0 negativity by bringing up stuff like politics, etc. You might get some ideas regarding your next acquisition there.

What is everyone's next 3 acquisitions?:
I'm a peasant with just my Tudor Bronze for my daily, didn't make sense to have my first watch be so nice that i could only wear it "in certain places" so:
You might get some ideas regarding your next acquisition there.
1: Rolex Datejust41 - SmoothBezel/Jubilee Bracelet. Though after talking to that restaurant owner, I will humor the fluted bezel. I just gotta see it on wrist first to judge if it's too flashy.
2: Omega Grey Side of the Moon - This watch is absolutely sick in the flesh. I tried both the grey side of the moon and black/dark side of the moon on wrist in the Paris Omega Boutique. The dark side of the moon looks like chit on wrist. The black ceramic looks like plastic and toy-like. The Grey Side though with the grey/shiny ceramic and that speckled dial is siiiiiiiiiick in person. I encourage anyone to see it in the flesh even if not an omega fan.
3: Jaeger Le-Coultre Grande Date - I love this watch in theory. It's clean but the dual sides give a gmt function, it satisfies the "pure dress watch" acquisition and it would only be noticed by watch guys. That said, i've never had a reverso on wrist so I don't now how/if their rectangular case will bother me. I'd LOVE to get an A Lange Grand 1, but 10-12grand is my cap at the moment. I'd rather invest the extra 8 grand of play-money needed to sign off on that A Lange

1: I was afraid of being underwhelmed with it for the price. Think they're around $6,000 retail. Can get Aqua Terra's all day long for $4500 and I don't like the OP that much more than the AT.
2: I don't like the idea of buying the lowest entry-level rolex, and STILL having to be cautious of where i wear it due to the attention the logo draws.
3: Kind of same as my first point. Spending Rolex money, i'd want it to feel special. As I've stated a couple times, my first one is gonna have the jubilee bracelet. I'd hate to spend $6,000 and have the general sentiment of my piece be
That said, if that's the watch YOU'RE in love with, go for it. Don't let some *******s online tell you what you should be getting, but also don't get it just because you "found a deal on one" when you've never been interested in the watch before.

Maybe it's the dull green in my AK, but no one ever really notices the watch unless they are VERY close up, or can see the back of the clasp. Since november, ive had maybe 2 people say something. One of them being a coworker.

Here are the watches I really like, first ones been my dream watch for a while. Second one I just really really like. Crazy that I can actually get it for 3.3k when it was 4500~ pre covid.

^^^^ Yeah, it's not my money. But I think with watches you probably want to stick to stuff you've been wanting awhile as opposed to just snagging chit that pops up in your price range. I would have had a Glashutte Panomatic Lunar a long time ago in that case. Then I'd be stuck with a sweet dress watch that gets no wrist time because i'm forever in athleisure (working from home).
I'd still be self conscious with an AK in my #2 point because i visit NYC/Chicago a lot and ride the subways for convenience. When I'm in Chicago I don't even wear my Tudor on the fuking train because i want zero attention drawn to me. Fuking jungle out in these streetz.

For my next one I'd like something with a cream face and brown leather strap. I saw a Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 5 in a shop window a while back which looked nice.
I also think the Montblanc Geosphere 1858 is cool as fuk, and I'd like to go mountaineering in the Alps. Climbing Mont Blanc and then going to Switzerland to buy one would be a sweet trip.

Been wanting to get a new watch for awhile now. Have had my mind set on an Omega. Leaning towards the Seamaster Aqua Terra in either blue or green? What do ya'll think?
Although I had never heard of the Bathyscaphe until today and that thing is sexy lol

Never even knew they made a green one ^^^^
I love how it's more of a muted military green. I never thought i'd say "the green is as wearable as the blue" but it really does seem that way. I'd go into a boutique, get em both on wrist, and whichever one puts the stupid smile on your face is the one you get.

Agree with the above, thats a particularly nice execution of a green dial.
I recommend taking a look at your wardrobe/the palettes of color it contains. Go with what you’re most likely to wear with your clothes. Also, if you can, head over to a dealer and take a first-hand look.

I wear a lot of Grey shades, black, and white. I think that green would go perfectly in a wardrobe like that. I think where one would start to run into a little trouble is if you wear a large amount of primary colors. But even just imagining that green dial AT against a typical Dark-Red/Black flannel longsleeve would be hnnnnnnng as fuk

Basically this 39mm looks like it will wear small, so be sure about what you want the watch for and how and when you will be wearing it. Have you tried it on yet?

Bump. Do you guys try and negotiate when buying new watches? Should I try and call up and see if I could get 20-25% off if I pay cash?
Also anything wrong with going on the used market on a website like crown and caliber? The reviews seem good, just don’t want to get screwed.
