His supporting cast wasn’t great but he himself didn’t look like he used to look. It’d be such a risky move. People act like this wasn’t Jimmy G’s first full season, coming off of a torn ACL no less. What’s limiting Jimmy right now? It’s not his arm, not his accuracy, it’s the turnovers. Why is it crazy to think with a full season of game action he can’t get drastically better at reading defenses and limiting the stupid interceptions? Not to mention he should have more mobility next year.

I’m all in on Garoppolo.
This. Brady is past his prime. Keep Mullens as a back-up but Jimmy is our clear cut QB. He's has his issues but he has room to keep growing and you can't abandon him over 1 bad quarter, no matter how terrible and epicly ill timed that quarter was

Personally i'd trade Coleman if I could and then let Mostert, Breida, and Wilson split the carries. If McKinnon comes back healthy and restructured then fine throw him in the mix if not grab a guy as a undrafted free agent.

Not sure if we could trade Coleman with his contract and Kyle seems to love him. Maybe its Breida they try and trade (I like Breida) but anywho I think 1 of our backs need to go.
I actually haven’t read that but I was thinking that. I’d like if we drafted Jonathan Taylor if did a trade and ended up with a second rounder. I think Shanahan would love Melvin Gordon but I don’t think that’s realistic. I’d be fine if we let McKinnon and Coleman go.
Horny.

If we're going to rework our RB group then I'd love to see a draft like this…just ran this mock via draft network(they make trading down a bitch)

I would hate not addressing OL at all in the draft but the way their mock went I just didn't see OL being BPA so I figured i'd add talent at other spots

Love Mims and he may have played himself out of being there for us at #31 let alone trading down to #44 and being there but kid has size, kid has speed and kid has nice fight to him.

Arnette is a solid corner who didn't get as much love as his counterpart but played very well.

Gibson is the guy who would be brilliant in this offense. I believe he even ran the WR drills at the combine because he's that good out of the backfield but definitely a guy who can contribute all over the field and get Kyle creative.

Stone and Gibson(2nd) developmental/depth guys

if we were to draft a RB I like that kid from UCLA Joshua Kelly or something like that. He had a good senior bow. Seems to fit Kyle's offense.

I actually hope we don't draft RB given our lack of draft picks but Gibson in our offense would be hard to pass up.

I’ve already mapped out a scenario where we trade #31 for Miami’s 2nd and 3rd rounders and also franchise and trade Armstead to the Raiders for a 3rd and 4th. That’s 6 picks between rounds 2 and 5. You’re welcome, John Lynch.

i'd rather sign Armstead to a deal and keep him. I think he's too valuable to trade unless of course its due to salary cap concerns which we will be having as our young players come up and want to get paid. I know at some point they have to let good players go and hope their draft picks step up. So far they have drafted really well so im not too concerned.

My only beef is they spent a lot of draft capital for E Sanders and he may very well walk out the door. If he does leave we really need him to do well with his new team so we can recover a draft comp pick.

I don't think he needs to do that well just needs to get paid a good amount.

I definitely want to see us tag Armstead if they can't get a long term deal done. Can't let him go for nothing but a comp pick next year. We need the draft capital now if we're going to lose him. I'd rather keep him for another year under the tag and try to win a SB.

Given the strength of this draft if we have to replace Armstead or Sanders then it should be easier to replace Sanders. Although I would've like to have Sanders around to help the young WRs develop. He was a big help to Deebo and the other young guys we had last year.

Not a huge fan of the edge rushers in this class.

If Armstead leaves I wouldn't mind kicking the tires on Vic Beasley as a situational pass rusher. Also Ronald Blair would be nice to get back.

Armstead re-signed. Good, I'm waiting for details of how the money is paid out but I'm assuming we don't extend him if it would jeopardize us signing Kittle and Buckner long term.

He was by far our biggest free agent that we needed to re-sign. Now have to see how Sanders and Ward do in free agency.

And…that Hopkins to Arizona trade is definitely not cool for us. That offense is going to be scary, especially if they fix the OL.

Happy to see we are keeping Armstead but I am just want to know that numbers and how it works out. There has to be other things going on right now that aren't out there. I expect some trades or cuts at the same time. Cap space was really tight, and they will still be working out some deals with other people, plus the upcoming deals with Kittle/Buckner.

But this Armstead signing for 5 years I expect to see some type of low cap hit with bonuses worked in so it could leave room for other money to be spent.

Not a pleasant thought having to stop them both but Fitz isn't the same guy he was in the past. We'll see how Murray progresses as a 2nd year player. Could blow up with Hopkins addition and Arizona throwing more money around/draft capital on offense but it was their defense that got shredded last year by James Garoppolo.

Plus more tape on that offense of theirs and we'll see if it holds up. 49ers definitely improved more vs roll outs and mobile QBs as they got healthier….assuming holding is being called.

Rumors we may have a big trade coming up…some speculation on OBJ but honestly with his contract I hope we don't give away #31 unless we're getting back their 2nd round pick in the process.

#31 & Solomon Thomas for #41 and OBJ and I'm ok with it.

F*CK…hearing Buckner may be the one getting moved. I will not be happy with that at all unless the compensation is too good to pass up.

Armstead is not better than Buck. Damnit…guess I'll wait and see what happens but hate these rumors.

Oh snap…. I guess this could depend on what buckner was wanting as far as money. I assume Armstead did a somewhat of a team friendly deal? If Buckner was asking for crazy money then I would say goodbye….

to the colts for a 1st rounds pick.

As part of that the colts extended him paying 21 million a year. MY guess is that this was planned for a while. Buckner wanted to get paid and the niners wouldn't pay him that. I do not think I would either. That money makes him the the 2nd highest paid Dl in the league behind Donald.

Buckners last year wasn’t 21mil annually worth…but damn, Armstead will probably go back to his 6 games a year career.

Tough day. Needed a draft pick and let’s see what we do with it.

Scrub Hooper about to f us with Kittle.

Torn on this one…Buckner is a stud and has been super consistent and reliable for us but $21 million per year is tough to swallow when you have all these other guys to pay.

13th pick opens up a lot of great opportunities with the draft but you have to hit on the picks or else it all goes out the window.

What I would hope for at this point is we take Henry Ruggs at 13 and then trade out of the 31st pick to get more day 2 picks to shore up the IOL and secondary.

Armstead is going to have to live up to that contract but we still have DJ Jones, Taylor, Street for the inside and will likely add others.

We'll find out in a couple of years whether this was a good move for us.

I love Buck so it’s not easy but #13 in this draft is great. I have a feeling we’re not done trading. Could see us trading #31 for OBJ now. But also, and I’d probably prefer this, take one of the elite WR’s in this draft and then trade back at 31.

If a team is really in love with a QB on draft day and we could get a monster haul for 13 then I’d be fine trading back at that pick and then trading 31 for OBJ.

Glad we got Armstead re-signed. I don't mind the deal and think he will keep up a high level of play. I'm sad to see Buckner go as a player but no way we could give him that kind of money. I like getting the 13th pick but wish we could have gotten a little more. I have a feeling too that we aren't done making some trade type deals whether it be players or picks. We'll see what happens moving forward.

All in all, with keeping Armstead and having depth at DL I think assuming we stay healthy we can afford to not have Buckner but that's a big if. Curious to see how we go about drafting this year and any more trades that may come up for us.

I hate to see Buckner go but we couldnt keep that dline together no matter what.

I thought Buckner would have had a better year then what he did and i think the 49ers thought so too. Armstead had a better year and i hope he lives up to his contract. If we can bring in Timmy Jernigan or someone to help id be happy with that.

The draft also got a lot more interesting. I thinl Jeudy will be gone by #13 but one of those top OT still should be there. Its not sexy but would set us up for a long time.
