Just saw on Crown and Caliber a Blancpain fifty fathoms. Pretty sexy watch imo.

https://www.crownandcaliber.com/prod...-10-blp-5y6vpg

I know I want a steel sports model watch, and also want a nice watch on a strap. This is definitely a contender.

That one's really nice as well. The brand history is really interesting. A Blancpain might be the next watch in my future.

Also if Putin wears one that automatically ups it in the cool area.

I had a Blancpain Leman that I bought and sold without ever wearing it. The price was so good and I ended up making money on it.

Literally starving for something remotely sleek on steel. Has to be a DJ41 config, new OP, or that glashutte panoreserve on bracelet. If I fell onto the jubilee blnr at msrp i wouldn't turn my nose up at that either but just lol at that happening. The panoreserve is the most visually enticing to me by far though.

i actually really like omegas, but all the cool ones are 44mm and 45mm.

they're massive.

Went by an AD the Rolex section was really weak. Nothing good. Only women’s watches. Said it would probably be a couple more months before the new stock arrives.

The only other brands they had were Tudor and Tag. The Tags look really cool. Might have to look more into those. Not sure if it’s β€œme” though. No omegas unfortunately. Wanted to see a green aqua terra and speed master in person.

Seeing the Speedie irl and trying it on the wrist was disappointing and underwhelming for me

Submariner levels of overrated if i'm honest. They're surprisingly small, and again, not a fan of 3 registers on chronograph dials

To me it's simple and classy for a chrono. I dunno what it is about the dial but that smooth, "soft," finish is 10/10 and resonates with me for some reason. Wanted to hate the thing but once seeing it in person, didn't.

And….the "penor" and the 12 o clock doesn't look like a penor in person. Just in pics.

No homo.

Their cases will be "empty" for the foreseeable future.

Fuark that's just a gorgeous watch. Wonder how much a good leather strap to go with the steel would be to make it a good dress watch. But…i don't need a dress watch much….

I've told myself im staying away from the AD until i get into my new apt in Mid-Oct unless they call. I told them to let me see the new OP's if they get one that comes in as the colors look way different in pics.

If i get to mid oct and they haven't called about the DJ or BLNR ill snag the "sapphire sandwich" Speedy (sapphire case back and crystal). Don't have a crono, so i figured it would be a 10/10 classic to have in the collection.

So I broke this out after 5+ years of never wearing it. I forgot how chunky it was, but it still wears ok. Bought it right at the beginning of when Breitling went full retard mode with the designs.

Breitling is sort of coming off that full retard mode too.

I still would love an old school 24-hour cosmonaute.

Got done with my work early today, so took a cheeky trip to the AD on my lunch break.

They didn't have the glashutte on bracelet, but they had one of their divers on bracelet. Super high polish center links, with brushed exterior links. Bracelet also has micro adjustments which is a plus. My hesitation with the panoreserve is that even without the moonphase and even if you paired it with the bracelet, i feel like it would be considerably dressy. Probably do to the script Glashutte branding.

Tried on the Grand Seiko as I always do. Nothing but praises for the dial finishing and polish. Bracelet is made of titanium though and i have to admit, that bothers me. The lightness resembles something you'd feel on a hollow stamped steel bracelet on a cheap fossil watch. it's that light but it's so fuking comfortable.

Yep, 42mm, 6.75" wrist. I don't mind the diameter, it's just the thickness that takes getting back used to. I've got as 44mm as well but I don't think that one has gotten any wrist time since even longer than the Superocean.

a combination of them having longer-ish lugs and that angle really highlighting it. heres a clip off the interwebs, you can see that they're longer but not as long as the pic i posted makes them seem

Watch blogger i follow posted about the new Frederique Constant watches. Brand always annoyed me because i perceive them as Oris-tier masquerading as budget Patek.

Saw the steel bracelet model and thought it reminded me of another watch…

Imagine being "a poor man's Girrard Peragaux Laureto" when the laureto is already considered a poor man's royal oak. that is just lulzy.

Any Chase Sapphire Reserve brahs ITT? Apparently they have an ongoing offer right now for $500 cash back on purchases of $2,000 or more at Tourneau. Hmm….

That's pretty much taking tax off any watch purchase, but still better than the poverty offers for the chase sapphire preferred.

Haha not even enough to negate the NYC tax on the DJ I want. But $500 is $500.
