Just fixed my first pocket watch ever. Bought it at an antique market for 5 euro's, wasn't working because the barrel arbor hook wasn't connected to the hole in the mainspring. Reattached it and now it runs. It's small but it's something.

Seconding heuerville quality, amazing straps. Been meaning to by a b&r strap they look great, they seem like great people based on my interactions with them on Instagram. Very friendly.

Do you mean a sweeping second hand? There are a lot of Seiko autos that have it

Hey guys. Gonna buy new watch, something around 150€. It's so hard to choose. For example how does Seiko for 150$ differ from Seiko for 300 vs. 400$, etc? Better quality, more precision?

I'm a huge fan of Seiko, the SKX007/SKX009 is a fuking beast. Super accurate, aesthetic as fuk, and super cheap. You can find used ones on ebay all the time.

Here's what it looks like:

nice dude! Especially last one.

That said i wouldn't buy watch like that, because it's not the design i really enjoy.

Some watches I really find nice are:

Citizen AW1015-53E:

This one is exceptionally good looking to me but got dayyum 300Eur. Citizen Men's AR3015-53E Eco-Drive Stiletto Black Dress Watch:

Most Seikos however are too expensive the ones i like.

You can buy the parts and do it yourself. I sent mine out to have the mods done. I can do a bezel insert replacement but no way am I taking a watch apart to replace the hands and dial, I'm a buffoon with huge hands so I'd definitely break it.

If I decided to buy a quartz watch, is there a reason to pay like 200 eur for a Seiko or Citizen? I mean as far I understand quartz watches have simple mechanics and you can get decent one for quite cheap. I can probably get decent watch for 50 eur? Am I getting this correct?

if you only want to spend <50 euro go for the casio mdv-106, theyre pretty reliable and a decent diver for the 40 bucks they cost. they are quarts but they arent bad to be honest. i wear mine for working on cars or if i need to do any type of manual work and its taken a hefty beating tbh.

edit: like anything else there are different levels of quality in quartz movements, and different sources of power etc. one of the benefits of going with a seiko or citizen in the higher price range you mentioned is you can probably pick something up that is solar powered, or kinetic.

if im not mistaken there is one or two posters itt who have very high quality quarts watches, i seem to recall a quarts grand seiko that i hngg at every time its posted, i think the poster is watchsngars

edit: removed other pic cause it was a random google one and put one of mine that i dug up edit: removed other pic cause it was a random google one and put one of mine that i dug up

i dare say a majority of the responses will be g-shock, no point risking hitting a nice watch against a bar or machine.

I wear a fitbit charge HR for the gym, would highly reccommend.

Can anyone recommend a Explorer II homage or a Planet Ocean homage, basically im looking for a cheapish (sub $500) diver/sports watch with a GMT function. The only one that has taken my fancy so far is the STEINHART "Ocean vintage GMT" but I would prefer a white face

EDIT: not too large either, 42MM or less?

So I bought a pvd stealth watch like this.

Not really feeling the all black so I want to change the strap out. I don't want olive drab as it has too much of a military feel. It has some slight grey contrast but that's about it.

So I',m thinking of straps like these:

But with black hardware.

Or this.

So where's a good place to buy straps like these? And of course any other suggestions would be appreciated.
