They are now banned in a few places, but it's just a bunch of posturing by the left. From a "slippery slope" argument standpoint, it makes sense that they should be legal. It's an accessory, not a firearm. However, in the real world we're already sliding down that slippery slope so not too many people care too much. They're not practical for anything other than being at the range and getting a feel for what it might be like to hip fire a fully automatic weapon. That's about all they're good for. If the Las Vegas POS didn't have a large crowd to shoot at, the bump stock would have been pointless. Once people scattered, it was pointless anyway.

Bullchit I have a close personal friend that was at that concert for a surprise 30th birthday getaway with his fiance. He said the gunfire was so rapid everyone on the ground thought there was at least 3 or 4 shooters. Bumpstocks turned those semi autos into fully auto machine guns.

The onion article annoys me.

There is no evidence that access to guns magically turns good healthy people into mass shooters.

The problem is we have too many pieces of s*it in this country and it's those people we need to stop

Since full auto machine guns shouldn't even be regulated the way they are...

This isn't true at all.

Even a cursory study of the history of western civilization will show just the opposite. Christianty was the civilizing engine that powered Europe from from the era of the pagan emperors of Rome to the modern rule of law, recognition of the freedom of the individual, and system of free enterprise that we all benefit from today.

A kid at my moms school made a threat a few weeks ago. They interrogated him, all he said was "I was joking", and thats that. Suspended for a bit but then walks back into school

Yep, a country where they used to have guns and gun massacres, then the guns got removed without any major issues, and since then they haven't had the problem. Nothing relevant to gun massacres to see, move along.

Nazism included a religious component that was decidedly not Christian. It was pagan and harkened back to the days of the ancient Germanic and Aryan tribes.

First question: Do you support an attempt at an Australian type gun ban in the US?

my friend came back from deployment and was at the same concert, he thought it was a high powered hunting rifle, said he's seen infantry shoot bolt action rifles with speeds similar.

But how do we know this really happened and isn't just made up by libcucks and the MSM trying to push gun control? Just lol if you're naive enough to think widespread availability of semi automatic weapons somehow correlates to more deaths

I don't care, except that it sickens me to see kids offing each other anywhere. But I'm not American, and I really don't like "holier than thou" dikheads so I'm not going to preach about it. We had enough of that in the fuking vegan thread.

If you guys think guns are worth it, that's cool. I think cars are worth the road toll too, but I don't delude myself that their availability is unrelated to the road toll.

More mass murderers use SSRI's than semi automatic rifles.

U didn't even have shootings before port arthur. Australia's gun ban was an overreaction to a historic event

Echos will make it sound like there is more shots going off then there is. I hunted growing up and still the odd time go target shooting with my dad. In a huge valley you will get a few echos from one shot. Now think with a bunch of buildings made of glass in Las Vegas. One shot will have the sound bouncing around. I know there are people that will say they can tell the difference but when you have some dude firing into a crowd people wont be able to tell the difference and if he is firing off a couple shots per second it wont take long for it to sound like a full automatic weapon.

the average response time for the police in Parkland Fl, according to their own web page documentation which I’ve included in the link is 5-6 minutes. This leaves the gunman 5-6 minutes of shooting with repercussion

if anyone in the proximity of this shooter had been allowed to carry a firearm this gunman would have been dead before killing so many students.
The only problem with that is how do you decide who carries and who doesnt? You cant exactly just give every teacher a gun. If you have a couple security guards at the school with guns and the shooter knows that they will just take them out first.
Its sorta a ****ty situation where I'm not really sure there is an answer on how to stop it. One thing is it seems like there is always warning signs that people ignore. If a kid sees something they gotta say something. Let the police look into it. If the kid is troubled then get them help. IMO this is a mental health issue. They expelled this kid for some reason. Is expelling kids really the answer? Sure they might be times that it is the answer but trying to figure out what is going on and let them work through their issues could also be the answer. But.... that costs money and its easier for the administration of the school to tell the kid to **** off so its not their problem anymore.
