Panerai: Pretty much anything you want, and surprisingly nice stuff. They have a 40mm now in a 1950 case that is hnnng and supposedly thinner. I was very close to making an impulse purchse but I controlled myself. Discount wasn't even close to what my AD would give me.

I fuked this up actually. I just called and it was 42mm. They don't make the 40mm any more.

I saw the one 40mm Luminor on their website, but it said limited availability or some chit which I assume means they don't have it or it's discontinued. Chrono I'm sure has some but they aren't current models.

I only had a 1997 ref 14060 on hand. The difference is minimal, but does feel nice. Compared to the maxicase I do like the new ones better, as they're not as bulky. I'd still go for vintage tho, but that's just me.

I made an unboxing vid for both together with some comparisons with my 14060 (best check within YouTube)

Congrats and repped for the vid. Case dimensions are easy to make judgements on when they are presented in numbers/mm (lots of people get freaked out when they go up), but it’s tough to pin down how they actually translate irl until you are wearing the piece. Thanks for the visuals.

I saw you guys discussing Blancpain Leman watches a while back. I bought the womens version for my wife a few years ago. The finishing on the markers is really well done imo.

Time and time again i get blown away for change my mind in person. The first time I tried on a seamaster, i was shocked how "small' it looked and felt given it was "42mm."

You've got good taste my man. I like that greyish/cobalt strap on it too. I wish my girl didn't have such dogchit taste in watches. I mean she has her cartier on bracelet which is timeless. But when I was shopping for my tudor she was drawn to this shiny patent leather strap tudor with chitty little diamonds at the hour marker. She walked over to me as i was at the rolex counter talking with the guy and goes hey babe look at this! and i hit her with the

ehhh, under a grand? Everyone seems to be allergic to reading seiko on their dial but that sounds like Seiko Presage's lane. I feel like Stowas, Oris, Longines are gonna run closer to 1.5 to 2

I’d probably go with a Junghans at that price point for dressy/casual on leather.

Either that, a preowned a Longines, or a Seiko (as mentioner above).

Should have this new 2020 Speedmaster Professional in my hands later this week. Hesalite crystal and solid back. Got it from a verified dealer on Chrono24 for almost 20% off retail, free shipping and didn't have to pay sales tax.

Was this one you've been eyeing for awhile? Have you tried one on in person before? Hope you like it.

Also in4 pics of the obnoxiously sized speedy professional box when it arrives. Just now noticing they include a loupe as well. Kind of hilarious when there's fuk all for dial detail on the speedy pros and it's a closed caseback but cool to have i'll admit.

Edit: I wonder if anyone has ever put a steel bracelet on the Grey Side of the Moon… something tells me that would look sick as fuk.

Congrats! A Speedmaster is one of those watches that’s considered bread & butter in any collection, and yet I’ve never pulled the trigger on one. There’s just so much to them (years, special releases, etc), it’s like it’s own little world. Over at the Omega forums, you’ll see pictures of people wearing one on almost every other page. Before I learned how to spot and appreciate details, I wondered why everyone had the same watch. One of these days, I’ll put aside some time to read up on them in more depth.

Junghans are gorgeous but I would never get something without a sapphire crystal. For similar price go Nomos or Stowa

Nomos would definitely be a better buy (a favorite brand of mine), but it may be hard to obtain one for under 1k. Worth paying extra for though, IMO, one of the best bang-for-buck options available.

I have the 2018 42mm Hamilton Intra-Matic 68 Auto Chrono LE, so know it's sized OK.

I had a Speedmaster triple date chrono with the silver dial, but it was too hard to make out the hands if I didn't have reading glasses on, so I finally sold it 2 weeks ago after having it 10 years.
