Mind nuked, but pretty sure this is the first Iced out Tudor (GMT). Fuking embarassing, but the giveaways:

- the hour markers at 10 and 11 are visible enough to see they're of the "dive" variety. so could be omega too but the case says otherwise

- no crown guard

- gmt hour hand kind of sticks out, and the bezel is really particular.

- finally the bracelet and lugs are particular, googled tudor gmt annnnnd yup. bingo

Honestly at first glance I thought it was a G shock.

It's a Rolex GMT. It has crown guards if you look closely, minute hand is correct, and GMT hands an arrow and not a snowflake.

best part is he's not wealthy at all. He LIKES mercedes benz but i think he drives a 20 year old bmw. Everywhere he flies is almost always paid for by the actual wealthy watch collectors who find him funny/amusing. He's just so fuking weird but i can't stop watching it. Some of his vids where he just acquired the pateks, he starts adopting a snobbish accent and making posh faces, it's hilarious as fuk. All the while having maxed out credit cards to purchase the stuff.

This watch thread has died off. Misc must have been busy it's heyday when 1 thread got 300 pages a year and this page has got 230 in 5.

Anyway, just got a Seiko Arnie. Just getting into watches, always loved them and this is my first since school days. Liked the utilitarian 80s look of this and the cool functions. It's also solar quartz. It was worn by Arnold in Predator and Commando; this is the 2019 reissue. Was going to get a Seiko samurai auto with the manta ray dial but liked the Arnie better. Seiko tuna tin range just resonated.

You don't own the thread shorty.

I think it's cool. Lot of the watch guys on youtube loved it. Maybe a fancy watch make you feel taller?

So I just bought this G Shock 2100. I wasn't sure about how it would fit based on the specs which seemed large. I think twovalve was wondering about it as well. It basically wears like a Sub.

Yep. If you can pull off the AK this is no problem, probably wears smaller than the AK.

I always wondered with the G shocks. A "40mm" rolex is probably 42ish if you include the crown.

My dead battery caliper shows the gshock measuring a couple mm bigger than the Sub from 10 to 4, but they seem to wear similarly.

What’s the fascination with the G-Shock? I’m genuinely curious. It just looks like a cheap digital Casio watch to me. Is it all of the colors/styles it comes in?

Cheap, reliable, indestructible, and good beater for say, the gym or golf course. The above (GA-2100) is jokingly called the CasiOak because it has a similar shape to a AP Royal Oak. I joke about it because i saw a guy on TRF post a pic of his, and ran over here going OMG HAVE YOU GUYS SEEN THIS? and BigRangs actually laughed because he was thinking the same thing.

And here we are. After seeing the size comparisons i might have to find one. Problem is they arent made anymore, and were super popular because of shape and how it is a "smaller" G-shock that isnt cluttered.

That's really it as far as i can tell. But again ultra cheap, quirky collector value, can run over them with a truck, etc. It's a thing i suppose.

Restaurant-owner watch guy i always talk about had on a Panerai the other day. And I was just like "wow that doesn't look like a phone on your wrist". He laughed and said it's not bad at all. Let me try it on, and to be honest it didn't wear much larger than my 43mm tudor bronze. I was very surprised. I still would never buy one, but it was cool to see and wear in the flesh.

Pretty much what twovalve said. Basically a high quality, indestructible watch that you don't have to worry about damaging or losing. Like if I'm playing golf, my watch comes off the wrist and that's a chance I lose it or it gets stolen. I time in between sets at the gym and don't have to worry about banging it on equipment. One that I have is solar powered and syncs the time to the atomic clock, so basically you never have to do chit to it. They also don't pretend to be more than they are, unlike a chitty quartz fashion watch that should cost $20 but they put a Michael Kors logo on it and charge a few hundred for it.

TLDR: Inexpensive, indestructible, functional, doesn't try to be something it's not.

You know they're basically impossible to find at retail, and even this one says it's in stock but it actually isn't. They have to find one in a retail store to send you. I don't know how reliable that is but it worked for me. It took like a week with the order status as "searching."

so I bought a Seiko Alpinist (green) last year off Etsy for like $275. haven’t worn it much except past two weeks. noticed a weird part of the “K”. I looked up how to spot a fake and nothing else really stand out too much. movement works well, lume, etc.

now I have this insecurity of wearing a potential fake watch and I am not sure whether to just keep wearing it or take it out back and smash it with a hammer lol
