Within an hour of announcing Mostert's trade demand Wednesday, Brett Tessler told NFL Media's Ian Rapoport that Mostert "simply" wants his salary "in line" with teammate Tevin Coleman's.

Coleman's $4.55 million base salary is nearly $2 million more than Mostert's $2.575 million, according to Over the Cap. Mostert's salary is not guaranteed, whereas $2 million of Coleman's became guaranteed on April 1. Coleman can earn nearly $4.9 million after workout and roster bonuses, and Mostert can make up to $2.825 million if he hits all his roster bonuses.

I agree. I blame the agent on this. I understand where Raheem is coming from. He's 28 years old and playing a position with the worst shelf life in the NFL. His agent should've built in escalators based on yardage/TDs into his contract.

I get him trying to get paid and take care of his family but doing it now with everything going on and the team(assuming they even play football) ready to make another run at a SB is misreading the situation IMO. Though Coleman getting much more than him is criminal but a team can't renegotiate every contract if a player out performs it suddenly right after signing a new deal.

Here we go:

Jack Bechta, Kittle's agent, confirmed to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area that his client and the 49ers agreed to a five-year, $75 million contract. Per Bechta, Kittle will receive an $18 million signing bonus and $30 million guaranteed at signing. There are total guarantees of $40 million, according to Bechta.

I think that is about 15 million/year?

I am happy that this is done. Now the hard work comes in for the next year:

Let's talk about next years contracts:
Cut Kwon
Cut Ford
Extend Jimmy (Free up more $$)
Extend Warner (highest priority now?)
Extend Juice (Price should be coming down b/c of age)
Sign Williams (he takes Ford's contract plus 4-5 mil more?)
Sign Sherm (he takes Kwon's contract….maybe 2-3 mil less?)
Sign DJ
Tartt?? Might be too expensive
Bourne?

The way everyone wants to discard Ford is crazy to me. Pass rushers make our weak ass secondary look good and are extremely hard to come by.

Juice should be nearly free as no one has FBs or will use them. He’s been seeing tons of money so he should drop way off

So Trent Williams just said that Nick Bosa is better than he expected and is making getting back into football shape lots of fun and challenging. He said that he may end up being one of the best ever.

That is a hell of a compliment for a 2nd year player.

Fun day to watch… by 1 the team has to go to 53 players. Also interesting is that Dee Ford has his contract restructured saving some money. Curious if they are signing anyone? Also saw something about Witherspoon maybe being traded?

My body is ready for some football! What is everyone thoughts for this weekend?

I think Arizona's offense will look good. But I am not sure if there defense is improved much from last year. I feel that we improved on both sides of the ball. I fully do not know what to expect from Kyle this weekend. I know we will pound the rock and move the ball well. I am exciting to see what the passing game looks like with everyone now.

Defense should come out strong. We just need to cover and keep their QB contained. I think we should win this game on paper.

So what types of improvements are 9ers fans looking for out of JimmyG this season? He really didn't have to do much to still take care of my team (Vikings) last year. Good luck this year.

Fewer turnovers. Better deep ball.

Turnovers should go down with more playing time. People forget last year was his first full season. I think he’s played fewer games in his career than Baker Mayfield. If he gets just more looks at defenses he should clear up some of his really bad interceptions.

Supposedly his deep ball has looked a lot better in camp. Makes sense with his planting knee being fully recovered and no longer wearing a brace. Jimmy actually moved a lot better before his knee injury. If it’s no longer in his head and it’s all the way back he should be able to drive the ball better and take off running if he needs to.

Really just want to see fewer dumb interceptions and that’s what I’m expecting. That interception he had against you guys was just him being fooled by the coverage. Russell Wilson said it wasn’t until last year where he finally felt like a defense couldn’t fool him. So while I always think Jimmy will be a bit of a gun slinger I think he can cut his turnovers in half with more experience.
Horny.

I would love for Jimmy to quit throwing those 1-2 head scratchers each game but I don’t know if that will ever happen with his gun slinger mentality. Brett Farve never got pass it.

Just needs to continue to make more good plays then bad plays. Another year in the system will only help.
