Another royal oak knockoff?
I just fear this will be another Cartier Santos situation where I kind of fawn over it in photos, but when i get it on wrist it looks potato. The medium santos looks nice, but the large size just looks obnoxious, and sadly that's the only size the blue dial comes in.

Random question for you dudes. Apparently my grandmother has a Vacheron Constantin watch that was a gift from some French steel industry execs who were trying to buy a patent off my grandfather. Probably from the 60's and looks like jewelry, but a gold flower opens to a mechanical watch.
–> WTF do we do with this thing? Get it appraised (how/where)? I can't find anything like it on the interwebz….
Will try and get some pictures….

Once people started to have to wait a few months for a watch it pushed them towards buying from grey dealers for a small markup, which in turn pushed grey dealers to obtain more watches at retail and it’s a vicious circle with more and more models becoming harder to source as people are pushed towards in stock less desirable models.

All this combined with the nature of people wanting things that they can’t have and you have the crazy market of today

I've seen the dial - it has no flaws. pretty sure its sat in a box since the 60's. Not sure about the movement….didn't want to wind it.

The Breitling is a gorgeous piece, but it’s fuarkin massive (wrist genetics of piss)
That omega is my dream watch, I hope to have one coming to me January/feb. I want it on a leather strap but dam it looks good with a blue one

Did a little searching, and this is the closest I could find. It's a lot more elaborate, and doesn't have the Vacheron association though. OP of this thread might know something as he deals in vintage watches.

Add to that the instagram hype, and the Chinese buying up anything and everything, and I think that's how we got here. My best guess anyway.

When i got my AK it was 4 months to get in. And when i came down to VA and started talking to the AD here, he said they hadn't seen one in months. And had a couple people interested because it all trickles to other product lines.
