No fuking clue how i missed that. Congrats.
I just got back from the AD myself. Put in the order to replace my Tudor Bronze strap. He briefly tried to pry for my interest on that new tudor day date with the hideous bezel. I shut that down quick af as my ETA days are behind me.
I DID however ask him what people thought of the new 41 OPs and said they've been selling quickly. Followed up and told me he's going to give me a call when the next one comes in. I was kind of disgusted at first because I want the BLNR. Like first you offer me a poverty ETA tudor, and then a fuking OP? That is of course until I got home, hopped on chrono24 and saw how much the new OPs are going for. Holy fuk, $5900 retail and reselling for $10k+
I'll bite on that reason alone and just throw the joker in a safe until it's safe to sell.

Yeah, i told them to let me see if they had a colored one come in, kinda what im thinking with the DJ41 that's on my list. I may keep it hidden most times, but pop it out every now and again if he gets that one first. The new Sub wears nice, but im glad i tried it on. I was just sort of…meh…about it.

That said, just being in the rolex AD yesterday had me kind of rolling my eyes at the verbal cat and mouse game one has to play to get "called in" for a piece. We'll see where my head is at next month when it comes time to buy.
I share your sentiments about the submariner, he let me try on a pre-owned one they were selling. Nicely proportioned watch but i'm painfully indifferent to it. I'll never understand the hype.

Forum sucks balls right now. Wont let me actually type in crap.
Will your AD actually come off on the grey side will? I made a similar joke to the AD, that the BLNR and DJ i wanted would come in at the same time. I saved the cash up anyway for both, just hoping more to continue saving. LOL

I think i'm gonna get my little bit of internet fame and send archie luxury fifty bucks to have him give his opinion on what I should do next lol. kinda srs.
I'm going to go check out the two tomorrow because the GSOTM never gets done justice in pics. The platinum dial is insane. It's like an ultra fine eggshell texture made of platinum and it goes apeschit when sunlight hits it. Check 3:35

Haven’t looked up the specs on this one but can imagine it would look thicc af on the wrist just based on the apparent depth of the movement

Wish i would have saw this before i went into the boutique. I tried on quite literally every "side of the moon" release. I was trying them on side by side looking for the watch that put the stupid smile on my face.
Yup. And let me see if i can find a video. The way it works is pretty slick too. 3:40
At one point i asked to see the "sedna black" with gold ( https://ablogtowatch.com/wp-content/...toWatch-24.jpg ), and he goes "uhhh yeah i can go get that for you but ummmm i'm sorry i need to take the watches back to the vault with me". That's when I realized at one point there was over $50,000 of watches on the table lmfao. Was a great experience though.
Problem was I went in there to get verification that the grey side of the moon was the one i wanted, but it was actually the meteorite dial that was making my jaw drop the most. Never had seen it in person but it was so fuking cool.
I just took pics of the blue one cause the dial was cool but i'd never buy it. All in all, the trip left me more confused. My girl pointed out that the meteorite was basically the same size as my tudor bronze and shared a very similar color scheme, so i'd still be stuck with the issues i have now. nothing dressy enough, nothing on steel, nothing lighter colored for summer even. The grey side was the most versatile choice but when you're spending this kinda money on a watch you don't want something "safe" you want something that makes you excited. soooo yeah, no idea wtf to do.
My photos won't do it justice so adding tims video. Awesome watch, but I reallllllly just need to get the BLNR to tick my boxes for a watch on steel, dressy, AND fun. the DJ41 is just meh in comparison.

just saw some older guy maybe 60 wearing a solid gold Rolex Sub blue face in the gym while throwing around dumbbells. i asked him - dude aren't you afraid of f**king your watch up? isn't that gold as soft as chocolate? He said no. he looked like a rough biker. tattoos, headband, etc. probably a semi-successful tradie. probably has a Harley and a Corvette too. totally devalued the watch for me. what are your thoughts on wearing solid gold timepieces in the gym to lift? i know the Sub is a "tool" watch but come on. i have a pretty good eye for watches and gold and yes it looked authentic.

yeah i know it was a Rolex and not a Patek but it reminded me of this Archie video -
“Pateks are not a daily wearer, they’re a special occasion watch.” “This is a delicate dress watch, Paul! It’s not for f**king Scottish geezers to go to the pub! It’s not a bruiser’s watch, Paul! The Patek is a very delicate watch! Patek is delicate, it’s like eggshells. If you treat it like shiit, it’s going to die.” “It’s a very special f**king piece. You look after it. These are very f**king delicate things. These are delicate f**kers – they’re not made for brutes who are going to f**king sodomize them, OK?!” – Archie Luxury - ARCHIE EXPLODES WATCH REVIEWS - What Patek Philippe 5227 or 5196 should I choose - ARCHIELUXURY

44mm. The dial itself is probably close to 36mm in all honesty, it's the bezel and then casing itself that adds the extra 8mm. On wrist and in person it looks very handsome in wearable, in photos it looks like i have a tea saucer strapped to my wrist.

Went to a completely new Rolex AD the other day. Told the lady about my want for a BLNR or a very particular datejust configuration. She looked me dead in the eyes and said "The BLNR is one of Rolex's most popular models, so honestly you would need to have some business with us before you would be offered one. The DJ41s aren't staying in the cases longer than 48hours but if you tell me which configuration you want I'm fairly certain I can have it for you in a few weeks"
I bert stared her for a second because that was the first non-beataroundthebush-bullschit answer i've ever received from any Rolex AD. Made me respect her to be honest. I sat down with her, explained i wanted jubilee bracelet, smooth bezel with either a white or blue dial. She took down my info and then asked if I wanted sticks or roman numerals, so that made me feel like she was actually interested in getting me the watch and not just giving me lip service to get me the fuk out of the store.
If she does legitimately call me for either of those DJ41 configs i'm gonna go for it. The Omega GSOTM is fun and awesome, but it would honestly be the same type of bulky enthusiast leather strap watch as my Tudor and I really want my next piece to be something a bit more versatile that doesn't look potato at a dinner table.

I don't like being a hater of people wealthier than myself, but i can't help it when comes to lack of taste and that's what this sounded like. This is also why i've never in a million years wanted a submariner or any variation of it. I know it's a nice piece, i know it's an icon, i know real watch enthusiasts wear it but every Sub i've seen in person has always been strapped to the wrist of a tasteless douchelord.

Update on the 116613LB Smurf I got for my Birthday:
I recently took the watch in for service at the grey market dealer ("In-House Warranty") twice in the past 3 months.
1st time because I felt it was losing too much time when I didnt wear it for a day
2nd time because the crown got stuck and I couldnt adjust the time/date
In between the 1st and 2nd time that I took it in for In-House Warranty work, I also took it to the RSC and my friendly AD for their opinion on the watch. Both said nothing about the watch looked off or counterfeit. They said that the watch is a 1st gen Ceramic Smurf (2009 Warranty Card) so if anything it probably just needed service. But strangely, both the RSC and my AD said that if I still have 1 year inhouse warranty left, I should just keep using the inhouse warranty and have the RSC service it afterwards. (RSC service also certifies that a Rolex watch is completely Genuine, since they do not service counterfeit watches).
Well after the 2nd time I took it in, cause the crown got stuck, I noticed that the hands were pretty scratched up after I got it back. I am fairly sure that they were not this scratched up initially when I 1st purchased the watch, since the hands and the dial were the 2nd thing I checked. But there was no way for me to prove it. After this, I was suspicious that the grey market seller swapped my hands for another set of hands. But my AD told me that since Rolex doesnt sell spare parts to non-RSC's it would be almost impossible for them to replace my hands with anything even if they wanted to swap them. The AD also said that RSC would replace almost anything on the watch for fairly cheap so long as it was done along with a service.
So I ended up taking my watch back to the RSC again to check the cost of changing the hands only. Initially I only planned on spending a few hundred to change the hands. But ended up doing hands, service and new bezel….I definitely did not expect to be spending another 1k on this watch so soon after getting it just 3 months ago. But I guess this makes the watch almost new and gives me even more piece of mind that my wife did not get scammed and buy a counterfeit.
I think now going forward, if I buy a used watch, I definitely will NOT take my watch in for any In-House Warranty work. I am fairly confident that the scratches on the hands were caused by them when they did the service (when watch was losing time). Always goto the Service Center or AD.
Also, Now I want to trade my 116520 for a 116509/116519 or a 116515

yeah i know it was a Rolex and not a Patek but it reminded me of this Archie video -

I got screwed like this on a BMW years back. There's nothing more annoying than be excited about a bright new shiny toy and then having to do shotty repairs on it just a few months after acquiring it.
