I don't remember a worse feeling blowout win. Losing Bosa is going to be a major hurt on defense. I don't know when or what Jimmy comes back but if we have a chance to salvage this season we need the guy closer to 2017.

Lets talk about this QB change, how good is he?

I think he is a decent backup and played ok back in 2018 when he replaced CJ Beathard. I don't think he can put the team on his shoulders and win but I think he can manage the game and beat the teams we should win against.

However when we have 7-8 good quality starters injured, I don't know how many teams we should win against.

Apparently Jimmy might play this week? How about no. Do not risk him or Kittle on this field next week.
Horny.

Agreed, if we can salvage a season, better to try and win with the subs.

OK, call me crazy but is Mullins "better" than Jimmy G?
I mean zero punts today, are the NJ Giants that bad or is Mullins at QB that good?

Giants suck, and Mullens is pretty good. He won't be as good as Jimmy is at Jimmy's best, but he's consistent. He's like a tier below Jimmy

Definitely glad to see this game going this way with all the injuries, even though it is the Giants. Run game is really picking up

Yeah, mee too, i tuned in late but Mullins and Jones are having a great 2nd half(parts i have seen).
I am just a little disappointed to hear that the Giants suck.

He seemed so incredibly comfortable in the pocket and under pressure. I was impressed tbh

I was kinda worried going into today missing what 10 starters? But damn our backups dominated.

We have the depth.

Besides Quick release and stronger arm, what is Jimmy better than Mullens at? Mullens stays in the pocket, throws accurately, is a beast with play action throws

I think our solid depth showed even last year, we had a ton of injuries in the 2nd half of the season and still weathered the storm

The concern right now is how stacked the division is and with how well Russ is playing I don't think we win the division. I think we can snag a wildcard spot but the season is early still

I like the win today, convincing and not many injuries. Move on to next week and hopefully beat up on another not so great team. I think as we slowly get some pieces back this team will have a nice rhythm going and hopefully can have a legit season.

Damn reed out for 6-8 weeks. He was playing amazing. We are getting hit hard with injuries. This sucks. Hopefully we can win the next weeks and get some of these players back.

Also Dee Ford can go…

Ugh, this is why the Washington RE…… let Jordan Reed go, he could never make it through a season without a concussion or injury.

Welp having Reed injured was kind of expected. Hopefully he can come back for a playoff run. Dwelly looked good yesterday at least.

What’s the out on Fords contract? I actually like the guy but his health is a real issue.

Also, hoping Armstead turns it back on as he’s all on his own now.

QB Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) will not play on Sunday against the Eagles, per Kyle Shanahan. The following players are also out:
DE Ford (back)
RB Mostert (knee)
LB Greenlaw (quadricep)
CB Moseley (concussion)
TE Reed (knee)
CB Witherspoon (hamstring)

Who the hell is gonna play CB?

Deebo and Kittle back, as long as we can avoid their pass rush and not get torched at CB we should win this handily. Looking forward to a good showing in primetime.

Nah anything can happen in 2020. Just wait till COVID starts taking out other teams starting QBs.

I just don't see how we make it into the playoffs this year. Major losses on defense, no real QB, not enough fire power at WR, stacked division and the Seahawks are firing on all cylinders.

Teams who lose the super bowl go one of 2 directions: they slump year + 1 (slump defined as not returning to the super bowl) and then rebound in year + 2, or they spiral towards mediocrity/dog**** in Y +2/3 and beyond. We'll see what 2021 looks like for the 9ers. The Patriots were the only team to buck this trend the last 20 years.

2008 Cardinals -> 2009 slump -> 2010-2012 dog****
2009 Colts -> 2010 slump -> 2011 dog****
2010 Steelers -> 2011 slump -> 2012 - 2013 mediocre
2012 9ers -> 2013 slump -> 2014-2018 mediocre/dog****
2013 Broncos -> 2014 slump -> 2015 rebound (champs)
2014 Seahawks -> 2015 slump -> 2016 - 2018 mediocre
2015 Panthers -> 2016 slump -> 2017 - today mediocre/dog****
2016 Falcons -> 2017 slump -> 2018 - today dog****
2018 Rams -> 2019 slump -> 2020 - ???
2019 9ers -> 2020 slump -> 2021 - ???
All it takes is Mookie Betts, Steph Curry, and Joe Burrow all sitting in the same car in order for one drunk driver to make the world a significantly better place.

It's hard to see what this is because of all the injuries. I think it's pretty clear Jimmy G won't be the franchise QB, but the rest of the team has solid bones still

But injuries are part of the game, so we'll see where we go

Yeah that loss is 90% on him. The rest on the o line. Nick's pick 6 sealed the game. 49ers probably would have won if it weren't for that. His combined 2 turnovers and his brutal first drive where he missed 2 wide open players took points off the board.

The oline played like crap too. Couldn't get the run game going at all.

Oh well. I keep telling myself the defense is missing 6 starters from week 1 and the offense is missing the starting QB and RB. Not many teams win a whole lot with their backup. All they can do is tread water and that's pretty much what the 49ers are doing at this point.
