This. ADs also (at least from what i have been exposed to) completely understand or are amendable when you bring in a grey piece. They sort of get it in today's environment.

That's pretty quick as far as luxury watches go. If you want to hear some really nice stories, check a Patek forum. Multiple months is not unusual. Also, why did you change the bezel?

I realized there was a small hairline scratch that I could not unsee. Might. As well change it. Only 200.

Didn't wanna send the watch back to get changed at a later time.

Have you guys seen the new (blue) Snoopy Speedmaster Pro?

I wonder how much that 1 will cost once it hits the market. It could approach daytona prices or more.

Might need to expand the funds or change the movement broseph. Finding an automatic under 1500 is one thing, finding one with a gmt complication is a completely different challenge.

Hamilton Jazzmaster GMT fits your budget, but frankly it's ugly. Seiko doesn't make a gmt that's not a Grand Seiko and double your budget.

If you add $500 to your budget, the Tag Heuer Aquaracer GMT is available which at least ensure you get good finishing and a recognizable brand. Otherwise you'll want to look on chrono24 for "Oris GMT" they have 2 or 3 gmt offerings in the $1600 to $2000 price point as well.

I have my AD sourcing a white and/or blue one for me to come look at. Then I was looking at them the other day and realized the black one would be such a sick stealth piece. Plus I wear mostly black and greys in the winter. We'll see. The blue looks way too bright blue in stock photos but I liked how dark and muted it looked in that photo. Will have to wait till one of these ADs actually get the FUKING THINGS IN STOCK. jesus christ… you know the brand is hot when you can't even try on a damn smooth bezel datejust.

i briefly second guessed myself due to this post. Then a quick cursory scan of youtube for fluted bezels confirmed my decision to go smooth. I was like "hmmm maybe" watching this vid until he actually puts it on his wrist at 2:30 and the fluted bezel starts going absolutely apeschit lmfao. I can see why it's desirable, but too grandiose for my personality.

This is why i decided on fluted. Most of my stuff is "understated" and this is about as flashy as ill go.

Thots on everose rolexes? This thumbnail caught my eye last night and I did a double take, but ultimately had my excitement squashed when I found out this config only comes in 36mm

Really loved the "sun dust" dial but it's only available in 41mm. Should be available in January for pick up, assuming no lock downs. I'm in NYC tho so probably won't get it until 2022. Hold me brahs….

Funny how that works out isn't it? I was liking the fluted bezel, rose gold two tone, with Rhodium/Slate dial but that one only comes in 36mm *facepalm*

Exactly. So many different SKUs for the Datejust but apparently not enough to appease everyone.

It is clean, but maybe a little too clean now that i've been staring at them constantly the last few days.

I was looking at the BLNR and Grey Side, they're in that 8.5k to 10.5k mark if I purchased them how i wanted. Can't do either at this time so I was looking at the smooth bezel DJ41s. After tax the fuking things are still like 8.5k.

So the mental hurdle i'm running into is do I want to pay 8.5k for a watch that has a similar wrist presence as the Aqua Terra which I can have for literally half the price, or do i allow myself to be influenced by the twovalve ******* and BPP84 and just go full rapper wrist bling with a fully kitted DJ41 fluted bezel for that 10k price?

This made me go check the deals on my AmEx Gold card. They're offering 12,500 MR points for a $500 spend at Torneau but that's not where i'll be purchasing my watch from. This actually has me thinking of getting a new card with a nice sign up offer to leverage the big purchase. Just need to find one that makes sense. Most of the "travel rewards" bonus points mean fukall these days.

Fuk me gently, just got the e-mail from my AD that the Blue DJ41 smooth-bezel/jubilee came in today. I'm going in to try it on this afternoon because i have yet to try on a jubilee DJ41 in the flesh but i'm leaning rose gold now. Let's see what happens…



Side Note: I wonder what Enforcer is rocking these days. Fuker had a blue sky dweller and was contemplating getting the Lange Odysseus last time i remember him posting.

Walked in and the woman i was e-mailing with didn't recognize me cause I was wearing glasses and in lounge wear lol. She was helping someone though so it didn't matter.


Another woman started helping me, told her i was there to pick up the blue dj41 that they were holding for me. But then said I was curious if they had any of the two-tone rosegold options. To my luck they had all of the dial variations but on smooth bezel. Instantly fell in love with the Sundust. In direct light it looks silver, but indirectly it's this blush/dusty-pink color.

When the other lady came around she brought out the blue and that REALLY threw me for a loop because it was more stunning than i expected, and then someone in the boutique said "you know, if you get that blue on jubilee, it's gonna be redundant if you get a BLNR afterward" and that kind of sealed the deal on me. They didn't have the Sundust with fluted bezel at location but it was at another boutique they could order from, so i put down 5 grand to hold it till this weekend.

So hopefully if i get there and the fluted on sundust is as awesome as i expect i'll be walking out with my first rowlecks. I think what i like most about it is that it's gonna be the exact opposite of what someone would expect me to have for a Rolex. Masculine sizing, but a slightly feminine color scheme. Couldn't stop smiling through the experience. They poured me some scotch, put on some music and let me try on some of their Patek Philippe pieces. One day…

As long as you're okay with getting virtually no recognition for it, and YOU love it then go for it. Grand Seiko's dials are insane and never get old. I've been close to buying one twice now.

How much was the sun dust compared to the blue? That is super nice watch. I didn’t think I’d like something like that, but your pics really make it look nice. Definitely checks that nice dress watch box off your list.
