The problem you have is that you think the Russian economy is simialar to western economies. It really isn't. It is a comodity economy, which means a weaker rouble will just boost their exports further.

Yeh I liked George and Uzbekistan a lot. The people are super friendly.

Azerbaijan has gone a bit *****.

I tihink the security situation in South Russia can be dangerous at times. Yeh, Magadan and Tuva are quite extreme places to visit; although a lot of my work friends lived and worked on Sakhalin island.

lol I dunno. I read a book called freakonomics and they discussed New York crime and using an approach from economics determined that abortion laws resulted in less criminals being born which made crime more managable. Which happened to coincide with Guilianais broken windows policy. People incorrectly attribute the lack of crime to the broken windows policy.

it makes a lot of sense. There is little crime in more advanced socities without police intervention.
