I did see one dude out there ND, and that's the only ND I've seen at a range/BLM.

In the Army, I saw at least six NDs that I can recall, all in Afghanistan.

Three were from Germans, 1. an MG3- dude was in the prone and picked it up to start moving and shot a burst point blank into the ground, almost took his foot off. 2. their version of our Mark 19- dude lobbed two grenades into a village. 3. a fukin tank- 25mm chain gun shot at a wall and made us dive for cover as this was soon after a tic. The fourth was from a Hungarian (DShK). The fifth and sixth were from my company, one was a cherry in another platoon- 240 while he was clearing it, and the last was from a cherry in my platoon- M4, 3 in the morning after a week long mission and probably only two hours of sleep per night.

I went to the NRA HQ shooting range when I was out in DC and I looked for unsafe handling. To my surprise, everyone I saw the few hours we were there was very safe and in control. I was impressed. They had two RSOs that had good control over everything, and weren't nazis. The booth next to us was an instructor teaching a new guy to shoot. Overall it was a great experience.

Even went to the range exclusively for testing one day and shot 450 rounds of 5 different brands in 1 hour (RIP thumbs). Didn't have time to finish off the last box of 50. Brought 2 boxes of 50 each brand. Shot all 50 of 1 box of each, saving WWB for last. And then shot all 50 of the next box in the reverse order. So all WWB were back to back, in the middle of shooting. Had something like 4 or 5 FTEs and all were with the WWB, which were all shot in the middle of the session.

Cliffs: I don't buy Winchester ammunition anymore.
We aren't the only ones to arrive at that conclusion/those cliffs.

Red heads almost always seem to be smoking hot or fugly. Little in between.

Unless they're dudes, in which case they're 99% goofy looking.

confirmed all of this.

Had an ND when I was hunting when I was 19. I was by myself luckily. I was hiking up a big hill looking for chukkar out near red mountain. It was a 2-3/4" #7 birdshot shell in a mossburg500 that belonged to my boss at the time (whom I was hunting with). The side of the mountain was gravelly AF and I stepped on a rock that must've been super brittle. Again, booger stick was on bang switch, and when I slipped I flinched and pulled the trigger and it did what it does when you do that. Just shot into the side of the hill/ground and luckily the richochet pellots didn't come back at me. Ever since that incident I have excercised discipline in regard to rule number 3.

Edit:. I'm also stict about it to others when we go out cause don't want a buddy to shoot himself or anyone else.

So far I've never had an ND, I've been around other people who have had them though. My cousin had one with my dad's .357 Magnum 686, scared the **** out of me. He shot the ground about a foot from my feet.

Best one I ever saw in the military was a 1LT going into the chow hall on the FOB in Iraq, stops at the clearing barrel, doesn't drop the mag but points his M9 into the barrel, racks the slide, pulls the trigger, BANG! Everyone jumps and turns to look at him, he looks bewildered, quickly racks the slide again, pulls the trigger, BANG! An E6 grabbed him before he could try to repeat the process for a third time lol

My company commander on my second deployment had two NDs, I wasn't around for either though. Allegedly, for that deployment, the engineer company in our battalion had the most NDs in the battalion, our battalion had the most NDs in the brigade, and the brigade had the most NDs out of the three brigades in Division that were deployed at that time. Don't know if it's true, but I believe it.

I've ND'd.

7th grade, I was handed a single shot .410 and told "cock back unit it clicks"
Okay. Cock back until it clicks, let go... BANG
Turns out, there are two distinctive clicks.
It was pointed down range so no harm, but, ****, yah?
