Can confirm.

Damn how long have you had that?

Can confirm DJ's never caught my attention or wow'd me in pictures, but after watching a couple youtubers show theirs then trying one on in person i was like… oh okay, yeah i get it.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume if i'm asking the group about what their thots on everose are, i wasn't readily thinking of the one mention of everose how ever many months ago in this thread lol.
Yup. always thought they were kinda boring in pics. But this hobby has really taught me you have to go look. Hell, i always thought a speedy was boring AF in pics, too big at 42mm, and had a Penor-esque 12 o clock marker. Welp here we are. It looked so understated in person, the slightly gray/black dial was hnnnng, and wore much smaller. Bracelet was also 10/10, but really getting the itch to toss a nato on it…..

I regret not picking a speedy up, I always keep coming back wanting to pick one up, but passed up multiple opportunities and regret it soon after! Fantastic watches for the money.

How do you find living with the manual wind?

Supposedly, this is also the last year that they will be 42mm for the standard speedy. Using a diff movement, which means larger size. Im a science nerd, so it has a neat "cool factor" for me. Manual wind doesnt bother me at all. There arent 50 complications to set so it's really simple if it does die. With a 48 hour power reserve, it rarely dies for me since i switch between this and the Air King every day or so. And the clear caseback is just cool. I hate paying so much for a watch not to see the movement.

Ive had a TT daytona on the wrist at an AD before, opportunity to buy, but was just bleh about Rolex yellow gold and definitely agree with will on the "too busy" of a dial for 40mm.

Now i want to get the nato on. Oh boy. Here we go.

Too much real life, and i'm all but certain my AD is gonna hit me up with a BLNR next summer which is precisely the time i'm looking to buy my property. The sales associate and I were going back and forth about having a birthday in the same month and all that chit.

BRB loan officer looking at last 6 months of statements "ummmmm can you explain this random $10,000 purchase 3 weeks ago?" uhhhh no ma'am i cannot.

My poor Tudor Bronze. Totally getting the "woody" treatment right now.

It's all good though, I'm not always going to be in the nicer areas of the city but i'll still want a nice piece on. Tudor is perfect for that, I think that's why that restaurant owner i know collects so many of the damn things. He likes having a quality watch on that he doesn't have to keep looking over his shoulder for.

As for the crowded daytona dials, you know it's small when women can comfortably wear it. But i'll admit, have to tip my hat to Rolex because it's nothing short of wizardry how they got it to wear so thin. Don't think I would ever want one for myself, but it's a well machined piece. My sales associate texted me yesterday with hers.

Lol my plans would change if I got the BLNR offer. To good of a watch to pass up getting it at retail.

I love the black dial Daytona. Would be a grail watch for me.

I think w/daytona it's more the history and untouchable factor that comes with it.

Side note, wtf is Willie D wearing on the latest Rogan podcast? Looks like a Smurf sub he tossed a jubilee on?

I would be all over natos if they didn't have that lump on one side. I like how the colors look with the watch though particularly the black.

lmfao @ changing whole real estate plans for the availability of a watch but i totally get it. I just showed this post to my girl and she was like "omg that's so ridiculous the watch isn't going anywhere!"

I had to correct her and tell her that only applies to non-Rolex brands. I then explained to her that Hulks were a $9000 watch that were impossible to get and selling for 15k grey market, then Rolex discontinued the damn things and now they're 20 grand. When your number gets called for a Rolex you really want @ retail, you dive on that fuker with no "if ands or buts"

Luckily I’m not on any lists so I wouldn’t be in that tough situation haha but I would come up with the money somehow without scrapping real estate plans. But if they give you the call and you turn them down then I’d fee like I Just blew the relationship with the AD and all that work was wasted.

Haha yeah you just have to jump on these things no matter what’s going on in life, that’s when you know our priorities are all kinds of fuked lol.
I ticked off the house buying a few years ago but looking to upgrade shortly; that feel when you really want an AD phone call but not really but secretly you do

I don't think it's a Rolex. Just some lookalike. The shade of blue looks off for a smurf, and it doesn't appear to have a maxi dial.

Realest thing i've ever read. I can see it now "Hey W1LLW, e-mailing you to let you know I've got GREAT news! We have a stainless steel blue sky dweller with your name on it if you can stop in this week and pick it up!" - SkyDweller MSRP: $14,500

Absolute baller move. Well done bro, enjoy.

I just had a laugh at myself, remembering years ago when I walked into Lum-Tec and bought my first LT watch and that whole experience. How it felt great to be supporting an up & coming small business in my corner of Ohio, getting a limited number timepiece that I would never see on another person's wrist in person, and the whole feel of it all was great. Then I read Will's dear diary where they serve him drinks and practically jack him off with velvet gloves and it really puts my poverty experience into a laughable perspective.

The GC after the fact is a solid move. Definitely putting that in the back pocket. I brought my AD in upstate NY a growler of beer i knew he would like. Sadly he moved on a few months later.

So much this. My SA is definitely a watch nerd and just appreciates it all. He was nerding out when i showed up the CasiOak G shock i had just found. They had the new accutron series that's powered by static electricity. Super neat watch, but just huge and not my thing. SA was basically trying to get my opinion because he wanted one but he didnt know what other people thought.

"Instagram Watches" ruined skeleton displays for me. Even if it's like a proper AP or Cartier skeleton, I instantly associate them with the random bullchit chinese watches.

Yup, the lume is insane on some of these.

And agree on skeleton faces, but the problem with me is they are just a bitch to read. Almost annoying.

Legit lold at this:

"Power saving function: To ensure power saving, the second hand automatically stops at 12 o'clock after 5 minutes of non activity. Your timepiece continues to keep time, the hour hand and the minute hand keep moving. When you would like to see the second hand's motion, please swing arm fully up and down for 3 to 5 seconds . Once powered, the second hand gradually returns to the current second indication and the power save function is canceled."

Lolz. It's more when it's resting on a night stand i assume. You'd move it the slightest bit and you can see all the mechanisms come to life in the watch.

CALLING OUT ADAM16121. BREH, I finally got the reverso on wrist. I fuking loved this thing. Wasn't half as thick as I thought it was going to be. Could play with the duoface feature all fuking day and never get tired. It can be formal but totally casual too. Had my girl with me and when I executed the slide and flip function she was like "WOW THATS SO COOL" lmao n00bs.

Weather was nice yesterday so went window shopping with my girl just to get out of the house. FIIIIIIIIIINALLY got to see some A Lange's in the flesh. First pic is a quarter million dollar worth of watches because the one on the far right is a 1 of 1 created specifically for that boutique. 4carats worth of diamonds in the bezel with a sticker price of $150,000. Sheesh.

Case back of prosperity

Walked in asked to see the Lange 1. Had none in, only the 25th anniversary edition (white dial/gold indices) $42,000. He then brought out the saxonia moonphase for me to look at, and I liked it more entirely based off the fact that it was 40mm rather than 38. A thing I notice when i walked into the Lange boutique and the boutique with the JLC, both sales associated kept making repeated glances at my wrist to see what piece I was wearing but they couldn't see because my jean jacket sleeve was long. Interestingly enough, the A Lange SA became more comfortable with me when I put the DJ on the suede tray. That's when he bought out the 1 of 1 piece. Take whatever you will of that

@BigRangz - I dug in for info. "How does A Lange work with their pieces? With Rolex, I'm sure you know they have their manufactured scarcity where AD's reserve popular pieces for buyers they have relationships with. How does A Lange handle this for something like the Odysseus?"

SA: "Well A Lange requires a minimum $30,000 purchase history in one of their boutiques. After that, we would fill out an application that we would then send to Germany and they would either approve or deny you for the piece"

FUARRRK the exclusivity alone made me want to build a purchase history lol but nah. I think Patek has a piece like that (not the natilus) but one of their 200K+ pieces where there's some exam or application process you have to complete before they allow you to buy it. I guess that's their way of keeping trashy low cultured new money out of their clientele. At least now we know why the Odyssus goes for 2.5X over retail.

In all honesty though, while I loved being able to try on the various Lange pieces, I didn't get THAT much more wow (if any) from the Lange's over the Glahsutte Original. GO has crazy finishings on their case backs. GO does applied indices. GO does great bracelets and straps. GO's just also come in stainless steel whereas Lange strictly does precious metal casebacks. So in my opinion GO's are less of a "poor man's" lange, and more of a "stainless steel" lange. Same quality as far as i was concerned.

Congrats on the recent acquisition, it’s a beautiful DJ. That reverso looks like a solid fit, and I’m a big fan of the duoface. Flipping a reverso around is oddly addictive, I catch myself doing it randomly while waiting for things. The Lange 1 is a personal grail watch for me. Just. Fukin. Stunning.

I'm gonna end up geeking out on the JLC forums trying to find which reverso model to get. because they've had dozens i feel like.

You and me both. Possible to purchase? Absolutely. But who the fuk am i to be wearing a $30,000 precious metal dress watch? Last time I checked, I'm not a house representative at the G20 summit. #GlashutteGang
