This one looks amazing, bit more than I wanted to spend but it looks expensive/classy af

Or this beauty for $1000 less minus the cost of getting a nice blue strap

What do you guys think about buying from chrono24 vs a store to save a little bit of money
I bought an Aqua Terra around 10 months ago. I bought the blue dial 41MM on the steel bracelet. 3 months later I went into an Omega store and tried on the AT in rubber for the hell of it. the strap was ****ing amazing and comfortable. I went ahead and bought the OEM strap to add alongside the bracelet. I now have both but I haven’t switched to the bracelet since and will likely not unless I have a wedding or something to go to. the OEM rubber is expensive as fuk to buy separately but I pulled the trigger anyways.

the AT is the GOAT. can easily be worn to the beach/pool or to a wedding.

I loooove this watch, dnt really want the metal bracelet though, I'd rather a blue strap which I think another miscer in here has on the same watch and it looks amazing.

How would I go about getting the strap that I want? I'd be better off going through omega yeah? How much would a blue strap set me back ?

Also opinions on the value of this watch? I've seen it float between $4000-$5500 AUD for a while. I havnt seen it as cheap as the below examples for a long time.

The first option is this one:
This ones $3856AUD with free shipping but it has slight signs of wear as shown in the pictures

https://www.chrono24.com.au/omega/se...id17912387.htm

This ones $4156 +$114AUD for shipping but is in much better condition.

https://www.chrono24.com.au/omega/om...id17663469.htm

Thoughts?

Maybe I should hold out and go for this one in the blue or the white face and grey strap combo. Both are hnnnng

https://www.chrono24.com.au/omega/om...id10217756.htm
why not skip the BS and get it from authorized dealer? I got my planet ocean from an AD with minimal haggling for like 20% off MSRP.

sad day boyos. I haven't had the Omega on the bracelet in probably 5 years. Decided to put it back on, tore the house apart looking for it… nowhere to be found… I have no fukking clue where it could possibly be. We've moved probably 4 times since I took it off, so it could be in a box somewhere that didn't get fully unpacked, but not looking likely. FUKK.

Anyways, what do you guys think of this watch's condition? Seller says it's not chewed up and that a polish will get rid of any blemishes. Some of them look deep so not sure if it's bad pics or what?
Spoiler!

TBH it looks like normal wear and tear. You could polish it sure, but it would also look like that after maybe 6-12 months of regular wear. However, if i were to buy a watch, a used one would be the only thing i would think about polishing. And would only do it once.

Think I paid some negligible $300 fee to have my girlfriend's cartier tank polished last year. IF the scratches aren't that deep, they'll come out. That said, I wouldn't risk buying it and taking it in to get polished myself only to find out they're nastier than previously believed and you're stuck with it.

I would have him polish it first, resend you picks and agree to pay a small premium for the price of him doing that.

Not a bad tactic to try. Would be a good way to see it. Polishing will remove apparently a pretty decent amount of metal too.

To further expand on my post, I guess with me the only reason i would even polish it myself would be so i "Reset" it and know all the dings and such are all "mine." Not saying i would, but thats the reason behind why i would if i did do it.

That's kind of in that no man's land where the choices aren't great. I'd save more or expand the budget and get something else. This is especially true since you just want to buy something for the sake of buying something. Find a watch you really want and then figure out how to get it.

OG black bay's are kind of schit and go for $2800 used. The much more refined BB58 seems to start around $3600.

Sinn and Oris may be your best bet.

Edit: ignore this post and listen to bigrangz. Buying a piece for the sake of buying a piece will only be enjoyable for a few weeks. If you're not up regularly watching youtube videos or looking at wrist shots of the piece you want, it's probably a flop you won't cherish for a long time.

Can someone explain to me the logic Longines is using here? I was looking for a new beater/GADA watch and kinda of liked the Conquest because of the bland style and 300m WR 12 mm thick and list price of $1,200 and a generic ETA 2892-A2.

then I see there is a "classic" version with a couple more Arabic numerals a modified ETA A07.171, 15mm thick, and only 30m WR for $2,100.

so they took a watch, made is a 10% as water resistant, thicker, and jacked up the price $900? What am I missing - is there a huge difference in the movements or something?

You underestimate the price difference a steel bracelet can make. Also potentially one being older/newer will affect price as well.

prices were for steel bracelets MSRP. Although I see its $859 vs. $1,195 on Jomashop - so I guess the "classic" is getting a much larger discount on grey market. Gee - wonder why.

So….a couple more hours of power reserve and more "shock proof?"

I dont think thats much of a price increase. If i remember right, the MSRP for the Sapphire sandwich was around 6400 USD and the Hesalite was mid 5k.

On your question, i love it. Snagged a 2020 not knowing it was the last year of the movement.

Oh **** didn’t realise the Moonwatch retailed for so much, just checked the previous was £4,260 here, so looks like a 25% price increase on the newer model.

And yeah looks exactly the same to me, updated movement and different bracelet, I’m sure there’s other small cosmetic changes but nothing notable. No reason to upgrade to the 2021 thats for sure

Perhaps no reason to upgrade the whole watch, but that omega jubilee-esque bracelet upgrade is pretty fuking sweet. I also was never a fan of the clasp on the older bracelet. Seemed a tad "bulbous" and dated, but the new one is much more modern and streamlined. Better aesthetically in my opinion.

And then there are the rose gold and white gold variations that just look downright sick. Would be an icy day in hell before I paid anywhere near $35,000 for an Omega though.

Ok i changed my opinion after seeing the upgraded clasp. That's worth the price of admission over the old, full potato, one. Old one on my current speedy makes it look like they ran out of budget by the time they got to the clasp and just said "fukk it. slap our logo and 'speedmaster' on a flat piece of metal and call it a day. Does that fit?"

EDIT again: just got the price to show up. It is a bump. 6,300 USD for the non-sapphire sandwich version is about a 1000 USD jump.

I noted that as well. At first I was like YIKES $7,100 for a fuking speedmaster? No way.

But if you think about it, with the new refinements to the movement, case, and particularly the much needed bracelet upgrade… for a chronograph that's not a bad price at all. A lot of Tudor Chronographs go for $5500 all day long. I'd have to see it in person but an Omega modern chronograph, with (presumably) rolex quality machining and design in the bracelet. Yeah that's every bit of 7 grand. I'd bet anything that bracelet upgrade alone causes the prices to hold firm and you'll have a much harder time getting the usual 20% discount.
