I have two, one from 4/21 and another from 5/10. I bought them at the same time, but I had to wait for one that was backordered. I'm still a bit miffed with Silencer Shop, too. It took something like 2 to 2.5 weeks between the time I completed the paperwork and the time they told me it they were ready to certify. I'd just barely done ATF paperwork for a form 1 and I could have done it on my own in a day.

I originally submitted on two form 1's in January but was part of the mass denials, so it feels like I've been waiting longer even though my oldest pending is from late April. It's just been a painful process all around.

You guys wanna hear the latest product to workaround CA assault weapons laws? Lol.

So the law states that you need a fixed magazine. To where you can’t remove it without disassembling the action.

…..However it doesn’t state where or what type. Lol.

So a company made a device that mounts(fixes) a tiny 22Lr mag into the inside of your hollow magpul grip. And that constitutes a fixed mag lmao

They sent it in and got a letter from a well known firearms lawyer and he confirmed that it indeed acts as a “redundant” (wink wink) fixed mag.

So if it’s redundant, it also means it can be primary since it does the same thing(thus making it redundant)

So you essentially take your AR, stuff a 22RL mag inside your grip, and then you can have normal mag release and all other “assault weapons” features

So, when people say that some transferable machinegun owners (collectors) prefer that the registry continues (but closed), I believe it, but you'd have to be a complete ****ing moron to think that any silencer manufacturer wants the registry to exist.

First, it's an open registry, and the real cost of the stamp continues to be reduced by inflation, so the stamp itself is overall a fairly minor obstacle. However, removing the time for the approval and adding the convenience of being able to just decide to buy a can on the fly that would markedly increase their sales. Even top end $1000 cans would see significantly increased sales along with price reductions for economies of scale from older people who never got into them because when they were young a $200 tax stamp was extremely expensive.

Meanwhile, people are spending $170 for an area 419 or (lol) $400 for a MAMs. In fact, increases in suppressor sales (and they've increased massively thanks to silencershop) are already bringing down suppressor prices.

For many shooters, a can would be a hunting tool (lighter, lower durability/fire rating), or a Kurz option to just take some edge off, and could be $400, which would (again) massively increase the revenue of these companies. This isn't even getting into dedicated handgun suppressors, not to mention, the 22LR can market would absolutely explode since these are all between ~200 and 400.

That's the best part, a magazine isn't part of the action, and the law simply stipulates that the rifle has to have a fixed magazine that has to be removed with a tool.

I wouldn't want to be the one in court when gov decides to prosecute anyway

CA will just pass another law clarifying that and making it also explicitly illegal real soon anyway

Yes, but the hilarity of malicious compliance is excellent.

I have two shotguns. No motivation to silence those.

Agreed, the intent is a bit courageous and inspiring.

The only reason I posed the question is because Rittenhouse doesn’t seem to be laying low like the other two. He seems to be out cashing in on his fame.
