That's why you don't draft him at 3.
This. There’s nothing Mac can do that Fields can’t, can’t same the same in reverse.

Then why would Shanahan wants him over Fields?
Horny.

He's better at making quick reads and is more accurate on short passes (which is what Shanahan's system is all about).

Why don’t we wait to see if that’s actually the case?

If Kyle takes Jones over Fields it’s because he doesn’t want to do any actual coaching in terms of QB development. Everything he’s said lately says he’s looking for someone better.

Look at the guys we’ve been linked with as far as trades - Stafford, Watson and now Rodgers.

Which of them resemble Jones?

It would be crazy if he turned around and drafted someone who doesn’t come close to any of those guys in talent or ability.

As I said Kyle has first hand knowledge of his/or similar offense being held back by guys with limited ability. Us with Jimmy and Rams with Goff. You really think Kyle takes Jones? **** I hope not.

They swung for the fences, can't hate on that. Jimmy gets another year, kind of happy about that tbh. Shanahan is off the hook now, if Lance fails he will get another chance with the deranged liberal fanbase.

Just thrilled it wasn’t Mac Jones.

I’ll trust Shanahan on what he wanted more. Seems a lot of people fell in love with Trey Lance. Hopefully he’s a Josh Allen type of player for us, but with faster improvement.

Anyone else glad that Jimmy gets another shot at it with a stacked roster? It wasn't his fault he got hurt. I think it's a great situation for Jimmy, Lance, and Shanahan. Jimmy gets to boost his FA value as well.

Yes. I don’t get the hate fans have shown towards Jimmy. Dude got his ass kicked behind our OL. Report came out saying he asked for Trey’s number soon as he found out he was drafted to reach out. Jimmy may not be a seasoned vet but he’s still going to do what he can to help Trey out.

Keeping him now is the best option imo. Can have a legit competition or just let Trey sit and learn. Jimmy’s value is only likely to go up with our roster plus if another team has a QB injury his value mid season goes up. Though of course there is still a chance he’s traded still.

Not a Niners fan but I will be rooting for Lance. Saw a story on him and he comes across as a very genuine and grounded dude. His family taped some message to him where they said nothing about his football playing or potential, but rather what a good leader, son, and brother he is.

Becaue he's been injured for almost as many games as he's played. You can't do that and be a franchise QB

I think you are misinterpreting disappointment for hate

I disagree that it's not his fault he got hurt, or at least with the notion that he is blameless, but yeah I'm glad to see him get a shot w a stacked roster because obviously when healthy he led us to a SB. Let's see what he can do

Anyone watch a lot of Sermon? I've hard people say he was the best OSU offensive player by far. He runs like Wilson Jr. Sounds like Shanny is looking to just pound teams into submission.

There is no way Rodgers retires lol. He's just a pretty emotional guy.

He should really force his way to SF. His type of "emotional" is really welcomed in the bay.

Is Lance the type of qb that would work in GB? I'm hoping there's some 4D chess being played here. I'd give him up and whatever "ass"ets Rodgers asks for to assure GB trades him. Serious.

I'd give up Bosa, Kittle, Warner…whatever they wanted. Crappy thing is, if they never made the trade for Lance, I wonder if Rodgers would be a 49er right now, with all those first rounders they could've traded.
