Why can't you guys just be normal 49er fans and stop trying to dunk on people!
Just because we disagree on Kap is no reason to be a Dik.

Anyone catch the first preseason game today? I watched some highlights
Jimmy only had 3 passes but they all looked pretty decent. Will be interesting to see how he starts this year (I'm assuming he's going to start)
Trey didn't look too bad. He had a couple really nice passes, including 3 drops by receivers that should have been caught. He also had 2 near interceptions and got sacked I think 4 times with one forced fumble. I believe KC was playing their starting line in the first half though
Excited for football to be back!

Was surprised there wasn't a couple of designed qb run plays for Lance. There also looked like a couple of pass plays where he could have took off and ran. I wonder if Shanahan instructed him not to run today.

Thought Lance looked really good tbh. Not enough to start yet, but better than I expected. The online depth is Huge problem for this team

I watched the majority of the game and came away impressed with Nsimba Webster. I think he just took Travis Benjamin's job who was awful. Rickie James is in danger of getting cut too.
Its hard to judge Trey playing behind that 2nd string oline. He played ok but a couple of his passes could have been picked. I'm not taking much away from the game but all in all i think he did ok for a rookie who only has played like 12 games in college. People need to remember that, he doesnt have the typical experience that college QBs have.

Watched a little bit. Couple of drops, second string o line was awful. I notice that Lance throws a duck every time, still accurate but can’t throw a spiral. Peyton Manning was the king of the duck too.
Jimmy should definitely start
Talanoa Hufanga is going to be a stud and maybe the biggest steal in the draft

Lance showed why he was worth the 3rd overall pick.
He also showed that he's a work in progress and needs to develop, which isn't an unexpected thing given that he's only got like 314 pass attempts under his belt and has only played 1 game in the last 18 months or whatever it's been.
It will be interesting to see how he looks vs the Chargers to see if he shakes off the rust and improves on things he didn't do well.
It's encouraging that a play clearly designed for a big play was a success. But Trey showed he's got to work on his consistency with mechanics when pressure starts getting to him. He also showed he has to work on feeling that pressure and being more decisive on some throws or finding his checkdowns. Some of those sacks definitely could've been avoided.
However all the bad is easily fixable with experience and time and honestly I'd rather see him deal with some adversity at this point than feeling like the NFL is slow and being all confident like Fields was after their game.
Confidence is good but rookies thinking the NFL is slow(even if in context that Fields' meant it) isn't wise.
Look forward to the Chargers game.

This goes for the other dude too…but that's talking about his physical tools which is why guys get drafted so high. Not saying a week 1 preseason game proved he's a great 3rd overall pick. Figured that wasn't worth indicating otherwise in preseason. Literally the rest of my post was talking about him being raw and needing work.

Not a bad showing for Trey. He needs to work on being consistent with touch passes but it was a good sign that he didnt fold after starting off 1-6 and 1 int.
I was kinda looking forward to seeing if both Juan Jennings and Simba Webster could cement their roster spots but i dont think Jennings played and Webster was only on ST it seemed.

I know it is preseason and a lot of starters are not playing, and of course Kyle is running a vanilla offense but I was hoping to see more.

Lance has played like I expected…why I was trying to get 49er fans to pump the breaks on pushing him out there as week 1 starter or at least wanted to see him play vs other teams who can actually hit him first.
There are clearly things he still needs to work on but the good news is most of those things are fixable. My biggest concern from week 1 was his ability to get the ball out quickly to beat pressure. It wasn't perfect week 2 but he showed clear improvement in that area so he's working on it already.
With time that should get even easier.
I think some people are making a bigger deal about his throws being too "fast" though there were a couple he definitely put a little too much mustard on…something else he'll have to work on.
Throwing high, also something he'll need to work on. His accuracy down the field was one of his knocks coming out but seeing Josh Allen go from what he was the first few seasons to what he was last year gives me hope that Trey will get his stuff in check.
Overall for a 21 year old QB with only 314 pass attempts at FCS level school there haven't been any things that are too alarming at this point. The biggest question of course is what's the best way to develop the kid. This is where most fans disagree. Some think sitting him ala Mahomes/Rodgers is best, others think throwing him out there right away is the better way to go.
Gun to my head I'm leaning towards getting him out there sooner rather than later and as most of you know I'm not super down on Jimmy. It's simply more about getting Trey the reps he needs to improve on things.
Of course this is where Kyle comes in. He knows the offense, he knows how much each guy knows about it, he knows whether they're doing the little things right or not.
I trust him to make the best decision for the team so whichever route we go with I'm good with.

Excited for this year, if we can stay healthy this team will be legit.
It would be awesome if you guys could check out my website for a game I created to play along with the NFL season. You pick 6 teams each week you think will win their NFL games, but you can only pick 6 teams, trying to maximize your points – each team has a specific point value for a win. The person with the most points takes the payout.
Feel free to create public or private leagues, or join already created leagues. You can play by the week, all season long, or both - just choose which kind of leagues you want to join/create. At this point I’m looking to spread the word and get as many people playing as possible and I would appreciate your help with that and giving me any feedback you have. The site explains everything once you log in and check out the info area, but feel free to reach out to me with any questions or if you need anything related to the game. Thanks!
