That's the thing.. when I was 20 like 15 years ago, I would spend weeks or months to sell and swap referrals and due diligence and deal with scammers and chit like that to save/make $500-1000. At this point to me, it's not worth the time. Find a good grey and just be done with it unless you are young like I was and have all the time to work with.

That's what I was thinking. I'm ok getting a lower price just to avoid the hassle of trying to sell privately online.

Damn, did one of you *******s give my AD my misc username? Bitch said she has one but confirming it wasn't assigned to another client. Then asked if i would be willing to wire the full amount for the blue dial DJ41. After I said yes i would be willing to, she ghosted me and hasn't responded back in over 48 hours wtf lol.

I like it. I also agree with W1LL, but I like all of those so would happily add any of them to the collection if I had the means.

I've got a Hulk but no RO, and have been on the list for a 5167a for a couple of years now. I doubt I'll get the call, and honestly don't really care one way or the other. 116655 satiated my appetite.

Didn’t bother trying with an AD. About to close a large deal and get a nice commission and paying the grey market premium.

Kind of no choice if you don't have a relationship. I had zero PP relationship until I went in and chatted for a while. Purchased some 24kt jewelry for gifts that isn't really commonly found (that I actually wanted). Don't think it moved the needle one bit. At least they know me now since I stop in once in a while when I'm in the area.

Random side note. A girl i used to "talk to" is from Kuwait/Jordan, but we're still cool. Her family runs a jewelry business in the middle east and since that's like the gold epic-center of the earth, i'm able to get 18 and 21k gold pieces at an extremely good price. If i bought gold jewelry from the place i get my watches, I'd be getting close to half the gold weight than i do going through my friend.

I don't like wearing gold on a regular basis, but if i'm having a beach day or boating day in the summer i definitely dont mind wearing a few pieces. Plus going through her allows it to be more like buying a rolex as far as value retention goes. I could sell them in the states for the same price i paid.

24kt isn't easy to come by everywhere, but at least it makes it easy for me to figure out if I'm getting ripped off or not. They just weigh the bracelet, necklace or whatever and then give me the price. I check gold pricing on my phone and then figure out if the difference is worth it since they had to actually make the gold into whatever it is I'm looking at.

and many jewelry creators don't like to make pieces out of 24 since it's so soft. 21k has a very "lustrous" glow to it as is, but 18k is as low as they'll go in the middle east. They don't even consider 14k gold since the percentage of other metals/alloys in it is so high. Rolex uses 18k.

Looked at some watches yesterday in some place called a “mall” when I was picking up a Valentines gift

Rolex store had absolutely nothing. A couple Cellinis and an ugly DJ41

Mayors just got Grand Seiko in and honestly I wasn’t impressed. Looked at the GMT and Snowflake and they look much nicer in pics than in person tbh. Much prefer normal Seiko

Nothing in Mayors really caught my eye. I dunno what my next watch is going to be maybe a Nomos Worldtimer or Sinn U50

I traded in my Aqua Terra and am looking to upgrade. Ive been dead set on a Speedmaster for years but the more I look at the Black Bay GMT the more Im liking it. But, Im also thinking if I want a Tudor I should save up more and get a Rolex.

Someone tell me to stop overthinking it and to just get the Speedy.

The mental gymnastics tell me that you answered your question in the bolded. Nothing against a Speedy or a BB58 (I know you said GMT, but not a personal fan), but I think years from now you'll just think you should have bought the Rolex. I'm good with all brands, but buy what you want deep down even if if means saving up a lot longer.

I really like the spring drive movement, but in person I've also found GS underwhelming. Great dials, interesting movements, kind of meh bracelets. At least they removed the giant SEIKO from the dial.

Because that's cap, that's why. The bracelets feel like schit on the "titanium" ones cause they're hyperlight which makes them feel cheap. Cases are hit or miss, some cases are definitely too large, particularly on the divers and sporty gmt. The finishing on the springdrive-heritage collection though is superb.

None of the watches you mentioned are an upgrade over the aqua terra in my opinion. More of a lateral step.

I liked the tudor gmt in pictures, but I found the case thickness/proportions to be really bad once i tried it on wrist. I also don't agree with the sentiment of "if i'm going to buy a tudor, i probably should just really save up for rolex". I personally think you dungoofed by selling the aqua terra. There are plenty of times i'm not wanting to wear my Rolex due to not wanting to "do too much" in a more middle-class area. In fact, I was contemplating selling my Tudor Bronze to pick up a BlackBay 58 or a green Aqua Terra for this very reason.

Unless you're getting an Oyster Perpetual, AirKing, or Explorer (pieces that don't scream Rolex), then i think it's always good to keep a more "chill" piece in the roster. All that said, the bracelet and clasps on the new speedmaster look phenomenal in pics. I would definitely go into an AD and check one out in person.

Oh i agree. Like wanting to scratch the royal oak itch with a girard-Pgeaux. That's just asking for buyers remorse. I guess I was trying to make a case for having multiple watches. Specifically for having a "beater".

In south florida now. Is the DJ41 waterproof enough for a swim in the ocean just off the beach? Absolutely. But just el oh el, if anyone thinks i'm taking this in salt water and around gritty sand n schit. Every day i'm out here I'm wishing i had an Aqua Terra or a BB58 for a rough n tumble beater.

Didn't know any better, came to the sunny isles/aventura area. Fuking garbage down here. Weather is great sure, but everything is so spread out and strip mall-ish on Collins. Can't even do a casual trip to a grocery store or café without it being a big fuking ordeal.

Bal Harbour and Mid Beach is my schit though. Went out for drinks there, and it's definitely more my vibe. If i end up staying through march, i'll be re-upping in a place in one of those areas. I hear mixed things about fort lauderdale. 50% of people tell me it's nothing but old retirees, the other 50% tell me it has good neighborhood vibes and not as obnoxious as north miami.

Part of me wants to explore "Federico Talks Watches" neck of the woods and checkout delray beach.

There’s some good and bad in Fort Lauderdale. I’m on the islands just East of downtown. Walking distance to downtown. Walking distance to the beach. On the water so i can have a boat. It’s a great place to live.

Can confirm what will said. If you really want piece "X" dont buy "Y" in an attempt to scratch the itch. It just wont work.

Also agree….kinda dont want to see what the new speedy looks like in person…dont need two of those fukkers.

Had a dream last night I walked into an AD and they had a Hulk and BLNR sitting on the counter they had just got in…went into panic mode trying to gather up funds…of course I woke up before I managed to get one…lol

Pretty sure one of those two will be my next watch…probably should at least try to ass kiss at an AD instead of just assuming greymarket/used will be the only way to get one. Would be a year or two before I'd be able to make the purchase anyways so if I could get on a wait list then maybe there is hope. My family has bought a few Rolexes from them in the past so maybe there's a chance…doubt it though.

Think I’m leaning towards the BLNR since I already have a sub the GMT would be nice.

I don’t understand this AD adulation? For you to give them thousands of dollars? It’s a strange concept to me.
