For educational purposes: If you had 250K in crypto, how would you go about converting to fiat and withdrawing to your bank account? In small transactions? One huge transaction? Do you let the bank know or just stealth it?

The price on bithumb dropped and stabilized so I think this is the top for now. I just sold my BTC stack at $14,000 and put it all in XLM

I think maybe some exchanges have maximum they'll send to bank account at a time (10k?). But yes, you want to take care of it on your taxes or the IRS will open your cheeks.

there is no way to stealth 250k in less than 8-10years time. just pay the taxes and accept the fact you've made a **** load of money. if you do a 10k deposit into your acc every week or month or whatever they'll just nab you for structuring

banks don't give a **** if you deposit 250k into an acc. but they will probably give you a cash transaction report. then just report on taxes or you will get cucked

How much would the IRS steal from you on average on 250K (in currency terms)? Does it get treated like income tax?

probably going to be selling REQ on friday for more loopring.
for short term

edit - actually I'll prob go put a buy order for 1k sats on xlm for 15% of my btc stack and than turn the 10% of REQ back into BTC when its gets a pump from the friday news

Depending on how long you've held it, it will be treated as income tax or capital gains tax. So, whatever those rates are at the time, 20-30% maybe?

in canada half of total would fall under tax.

so ~30% of (250K/2) would be taxed.

tdrl You would have to pay 37K capital gains tax on 250K.


banks don't care. no flags will be raised if you did one large transaction.
