Yep, I've gone both ways on white balance in the past, with this shot.

D300S finally gets an update after 6 years. Nice move.

Cliffs: 21mp + 153pt AF + 10fps + 79 shot buffer + 100-51K native ISO + 4K video = 7Dmk2 killer. Glad they got rid of the popup flash. Hope they do this with the D800/D810 line. I have mine taped down. Having a built-in commander and fill flash capability sounds like a good idea until that POS pops up by accident. Really screams pro to a client.

Patiently waiting for a D850.

Phase One (with Sony) have a 100mp MF back.

Sony has a 42mp FF mirrorless.

Canon have a 50mp DSLR.

Nikon …. please respond.

(not that I only care about mp)

Also I think it's time we coin a new term: "Mega-Iso"

The new D5 is the first 3mI camera. (half joking)

Love that shot frep…the cool dark feeling makes you feel like you're in a frozen wasteland with nothing hundreds of miles in every direction and I love it.

And thank you….I have friends that are guilty of the aurora over absolutely nothing and I can't stand it haha.

With sensor technology from 2004.

Nikon and Sony still have a clear edge in shadow recovery.

I think we'll see a 42mp sensor in the next one which is enough for me.

$6500 in the US. Yup it is an expensive camera but then again it is THE professional Nikon camera and the D4s was also priced at $6000 when it first came out (I think).
Canon is going to announce the new 1D at CP+ and I bet they'll price it similarly to the D5.

I'd be happy with 42mp but higher continuous shooting speed, obviously better AF, and better ISO performance.

And… for the love of god, please give us +/- 2 EV AEB. With as much DR as these sensors have it makes no sense that we still use +/- 1 EV AEB.

Bought a canon rebel a while ago too see if im going to stick with this. Currently only have the stock lens and been trying to shoot in manual mode so I can learn. Anyone recommend the cheaper yongnuo 50mm f/1.8 over the canon 50mm f/1.8. Reviews seem pretty good on it considering its nearly 50% cheaper new. How much better would a f/1.4 be for pics in low light conditions. My bad if I sound like a noob.

some time ago i sold part of my old rig - canon 7d+28-135 kit lens + 50mm 1.8 II. replaced it with 5dmkIII but i also needed a replacement for 50mm. so my new toy arrived today - sigma 50mm DG HSM Art. will be testing it now. all youtube gurus say it's incredibly sharp with great smooth bokeh. so far all i can say it's built like a tank, weight a little but this solid feel and it's bery well balanced with my 5dmk3

Generally speaking (and I used to have that lens) it isn't very sharp, especially at the long end (high zoom).

It's still worth some money though.

Canon is a conservative company; however, I think you will agree that there are clear advantages for consumer to not fixing what ain't broke. Sony of course are the innovators, but that just means their stuff will be out-of-date by the time you get it home.

The good news is they fixed that on the D810 — you can bracket 2-5 frames in steps up to 3EV. 1EV was always a stupid limitation, something that should have been addressed with a simple firmware update but of course they'd rather save it for newer cameras so it's yet another reason for you to consider upgrading.

Btw, if you want a camera for shooting wildlife, get the D500. A 42-50mp FX DSLR from Nikon won't come with more than 6fps. Years ago they made the mistake of offering a D700 that could shoot 8fps with a grip (+ D3 battery or 8 AAs) and similar AF performance. That obviously affected D3/D3s sales. They won't make that mistake again.
