I’ve also wondered about that guy who says he killed bin Laden, running around cashing in on his fame, too. Would have thought he would’ve been marked like Salman Rushdie.

It's been a long time and coverage at the time was less detailed than it is today, but didn't Goetz lose a civil case against one of the kids. I know he wasn't convicted of murder or assault because he was convinced they were going to attack him and the law said you could use force to prevent a robbery. But (googled) the kid who wound up with brain damage and paralyzed did win a lawsuit against him. Makes you wonder how it would have played out if it had gone to court today. Would he have been convicted because he shot them all when that kid was just standing there and never displayed a weapon?

I also remember Massad Ayoob once saying he carried a $20 bill wrapped around a matchbook to give to someone who tried to do to him what the 4 guys did to Goetz. Said he didn't want to kill somebody over a trivial amount of money. I'm not sure I have the details exactly right and I doubt that method would diffuse many situations, but maybe some, and the sentiment seemed right to me.

For $85 more I can get Blazer Brass, why risk it?
Was going to order 1000 rounds from ammoman last night but started digging around and found 170 rounds of HST and 500 of winchester cheap stuff, so may hold out for a bit.

Also scared the crap out of myself. I found the case for my FN509 in the same container as that winchester ammo, but not the 509, and I didn't see it in the safe.
So I started digging our every lock box I have looking for it since I wouldn't have left it out intentionally. Nada
Finally pulled a bunch of stuff out of the safe and found it. In a sock, in a box, buried under a bunch of Glock magazines. Guess I didn't check before I moved the mags into that box, and for about 20 minutes I actually thought maybe I'd lost one. That's scary.

I think it's more along the lines of: If you can diffuse a situation for only $20 and avoid having to actually pull the trigger, is that $20 well spent?

then why stop at 20? why not a couple 1000? stupid concept. Mas is a smart guy but he is past his prime. can't really handle the pressure anymore and would rather just poop his pants and scare the attacker off like John Korea

if you hand a perp a 20, you know they are going to go in for more. might as well hand over your EDC pistol while youre at it. Also what if the attacker wants to kill you. would be better off carrying around a fake ring saying its real diamonds, throwing it at the floor and then wasting 'em

I never said you were giving up all your options and everything is situational. Look at the case I was referring to. If Goetz had pulled out 5 singles and said I need 2 for coffee, they may have laughed and taken 3. They may have taken the entire 5. But they were right behind the conductor, only a minute or two to the next stop, Saturday afternoon so not a deserted area, and there was also at least one other person on the car. So yeah, the 4 guys seemed threatening, but they hadn't pulled out any weapons. I looked up that case and I do believe he was terrified and that he panicked. But he also didn't make great decisions and got lucky.

Just because he didn't break the law doesn't mean he made the best choice, and I'd say the same thing about Zimmerman and Rittenhouse. They were idiots. Not criminals, just idiots. As to Ayoob's $20 suggestion, in the case of Goetz, I suspect his life would have been better if he hadn't panicked and had instead given up $5 or yes, even $20. But hey, maybe you know how perps act more than I do. And maybe months of trials, having to declare bankruptcy and losing his business after the civil case, and then a career as a volunteer squirrel nurse in central park was actually what Goetz wanted.

So a company made a device that mounts(fixes) a tiny 22Lr mag into the inside of your hollow magpul grip. And that constitutes a fixed mag lmao

They sent it in and got a letter from a well known firearms lawyer and he confirmed that it indeed acts as a “redundant” (wink wink) fixed mag.

So if it’s redundant, it also means it can be primary since it does the same thing(thus making it redundant)

So you essentially take your AR, stuff a 22RL mag inside your grip, and then you can have normal mag release and all other “assault weapons” features
This is absolutely amazing lmao

Leftists are quick to lash out with violence, specifically political violence. The problem is that they're also stupid. They'd be much quicker to take out their "rage" of Rittenhouse on random innocents.

Sort of this. Most of the mass shooters lately have been leftists, so in general they're very violent. Emotional and stupid as well, though. It's like the democrat who just ran over a teenager for being republican. Completely unhinged but willing to enact violence.

The hilarious thing is that dude, Robert O'Neill, didn't even kill him. Him and another guy, Bissonnette, both claimed to have killed him. They both wrote books and did public speaking tours. In reality, a third unnamed member was the one who actually killed him, remaining on active duty and hasn't come forward (yet). O'Neill and Bissonnette got into physical fist fights over who would get to claim the kill and have both been banned from DEVGRU facilities.

SF is an actual unit. Special Forces are a US Army unit. What you're meaning to say is SOF, or Special Operations Forces, which encompasses all units in SOCOM.

US Army Special Forces have adopted the term "quiet professionals" and typically live by it. SEALs, as well as MARSOC, go by the opposite of that.

Picked up the Banshee and Wolfman. Put the Crimson Trace laser/light on top since I don't have side rails and took an old eotech off one of the 15-22 and put it on temporarily.  Glass on the eotech is crazing but it works.

I'm thinking about picking up a Romeo5XDR for it.  I saw some Holosun aems that is new and looked interesting, but it's almost twice the price.  Really ugly too, although that shouldn't matter. Any thoughts on the Romeo5XDR or other's about that size??  Not looking for an aimpoint or even anything over $400.

I also need an under bed lock box bigger than what I have now.  Anyone tried a SnapSafe?

Also, why won't pictures load anymore? Did something change?
