Season is pretty much over. they have to win in LA, probably not gonna happen with no Jimmy.

Despite the beating we've given the Rams over the last few seasons I have a really bad feeling about this game. The covid issues popping up now make things so much worse. KW, Ward and Dontae Johnson on covid list right now…if we can't get them back for the game you may as well throw you your Falcons jerseys and cheer for them to upset the Saints. Cuz we're not winning without KW or Ward out there.
Ward for all the crap he's gotten from the fanbase over the years has been so good this year. I don't think it's a coincidence that our worst showing on defense this year was without him in the lineup against Arizona backups.
But really the reason I don't feel great about this game is also the uncertainty on offense. Considering what the Rams do well on defense and how we've countered their strength lately it's absolutely Jimmy who should start…but I just don't think his thumb is going to be good enough. Now he may play but will his thumb give us Garoppolo from Tennessee? Because that guy will absolutely turn the ball over and miss critical throws.
I so wish Carolina could've beat the Saints so this game was a practice run for us. Hate that it's a must win and that we have to rely on soft ass Falcons team to beat the Saints.
Everyone get your prayers up. We'll need them to get into the playoffs.
But honestly if we get in…I think we CAN make a run. We have some really good players and we do well on the road. The team that scared me the most is Tampa Bay but they've been hit with some key injuries lately so getting them early in the playoffs may not be the disaster from what it looked like just a few weeks ago.
Our secondary has been playing a bit better lately, props to Thomas for improving almost every week. Josh Norman is still a damn nightmare and teams may be looking to target him more now that Ambry is starting to make plays and it's not just "throw at the rookie"
Get into the dance and see what we can do. But whatever happens I think our future is bright with Trey. He showed a lot of really good things against Houston. Kid will keep growing and growing. Takes the sting away of giving away an early draft pick for him. At this point if we don't make the playoffs looks like Dolphins will be getting a low teens pick from us. Hopefully we keep dropping that further.

Not sure about this game and who will be our QB, but it will be interesting to see how our future looks.

So i was pissed at 17-3 and turned it off, then curiosity got me and it was 17-17.
The rest is history, great win and Dallas will be tough but doable.

Shoutout to Aubrey Thomas for getting burned every play so he would be prepared to pick an underthrown pass saving the season. Jimmy G continues to throw breakbacking ints

God damn that game took 10 years off my life!
Deebo is insane!
Please don't put me through anything like that next week. A nice 37-13 game would be nice.

Deebo may be the best non-QB player in football.
It is going to be tough for you guys to beat good teams with JimmyG being so inaccurate though. He gets rid of the ball quick enough and usually makes the right read–it's just all about accuracy w/him.
Good luck. You guys are my sleeper team.

wow, that's all I can say.
Kyle really got in his bag in that second half. COTY in my opinion, lost his starting running backs, patchy oline, no secondary, bad start, and no good QB, and turned this team into a playoff team. They didn't even have starting tackles yesterday lol.

49ers/Cowboys in the playoffs is the **** NFL lives for. THE rivalry of my childhood.
It won't be easy but I like how we match up against them. Biggest question to me is same as it always is - which Jimmy do we see out there? He can have masterful drives like the tying TD drive with under a minute left and no timeouts or boneheaded drive killing picks like the one he threw in the redzone by forcing a bad throw to Kittle with Ramsey in the area(yeah Ramsey made a crazy ass pick but that ball never should've went to Kittle in that spot)
And of course our secondary against all those Dallas weapons. Our pass rush absolutely has to play lights out and try to get Dak because while our secondary is playing better…I just don't trust them against this Dallas group.
I also worry if our guys can come back down from the emotional high of that Rams victory and come out playing like they can vs starting out slow. This Dallas team is built to play with a lead. Great pass rush. Defense which forces a ton of turnovers and a balanced offense with a good OL, strong running game and elite pass catchers.
We have to do everything we can to come out and take the early lead and try to make them play our football.
Hope we get some all time greats to come in and speak to the team about how crazy the Dallas rivalry used to be so they understand what this means to fans who were around for those.

He drives me crazy. I mean he's great to look at but you never know if he'll throw an interception or basically run the ball and not go anywhere.
Thank goodness we have Deebo, Kittle, Nick Bosa, Fred Warner. Trent Williams being questionable isn't good. Hopefully he can play.

Cuz very rarely does that expression not happen when he's out there. But I did think if he could throw accurately with that thumb that he gave us the best chance to win vs the Rams and I think that still applies vs Dallas. Basically any team with a great pass rush and ball hawks in the secondary.
One thing Jimmy does very well and what Trey cannot replicate right now(and possibly ever) is the quick release. There were several plays vs the Rams where that release resulted in a good play vs a sack or fumble. Very few QBs in the game right now get the ball out as quick as Jimmy.
Of course the bad Jimmy is what you can get in any moment. You just have to hope if that guy shows up at all…that he shows up early where you can recover from it or the defense makes up for it.
Dallas is a similarly built team to the Rams so hopefully we get good Jimmy the whole way through. Because if we get the guy from that game tying drive all game long and the defense plays well we'll be hard to beat.

Figures you led off with the looks like him, has tats like him, acts like him part.
Funny thing is the football part you couldn’t even get right. Where did you see Lance’s great breakaway speed that was comparable to Kap?
Lance has already shown a better grasp of NFL concepts that Kap didn’t pick up for several years in the NFL. Kap was also 2-3 years older when he finally saw the field in the NFL. That was also with a lot more experience in college and nearly a year and a half with the 49ers before he got to play.
The comparison is there for you because Trey looks like Kap and has a big arm and can run. There’s a lot more to playing QB than that. Lance was running a more complex system as a freshman and with more control than Kap did early in the NFL.
Kap was too busy working on his speed and his body to work on the mental part of the game. The comparison to Lance is lazy as hell. You can literally see Lance grow within the game. Look like a rookie on one play and then next time they run a same type of play he adjusts and makes a better play.
You saying Garoppolo who is an 8 year vet who has been in this offense for 4.5 years is better right now than a 21 year old rookie is a no **** post. But you calling Trey Kap 2.0 is ignorant as fuk, even more so if you think Jimmy is better long term as well.

I just hate the Kap comparison. Obviously anyone who has been posting here for a while knows how hard I caped for Kap but it was because I expected him to keep growing as a passer. He never took that next step and IMO wasted all that talent he had. There were several reports from different sources which sounded like he didn't put as much into his film prep as he did in the weight room/speed training.
Now anything can change with Trey, like they did with Kap but fact is Lance at a younger age(Kap was actually 25 when he finally started for us so 4 year difference) has shown much better grasp of NFL concepts, run calls, pass protection calls and has better mechanics at this stage. The Shanahan offense is way more complex than what we were running with Kap at the time too.
The fact that Lance is as far along as he's shown to be at his age and with his limited experience is super encouraging. Now yeah he has to keep improving but that's what rookies have to do. Very few come out of the gates running **** in the NFL and don't have their moment where they look like they suck.
Jimmy is a gamer but even when fully healthy he's limited physically. Trey is clearly a better QB physical talent wise. He will have to prove he can do the little things Jimmy does well AND use those improved physical tools.
The KC Smith/Mahomes situation is the goal of course. Mahomes sat, he went out the year after and has been arguably the best QB in the game since then. I don't think Trey will have the same mega jump in his 2nd season(Mahomes had 1000+ more attempts in college than Trey did) but I think we're in good hands with Trey at QB long term and especially with Shanahan calling the plays.
Having said that…I hope good Jimmy is here during the playoffs and his last moment as a 49er is hoisting up the Lombardi trophy as we win #6. But have to start with a W on Sunday.
