1.5% was the "real" number but the adjusted percentage due to locale/ethnicity/race/sex etc was between 3%-5%. I'm not sure how you adjust the percentage unless you primarily had white males volunteer for the study?

What 4000? It's looking like the death rate is lagging around 10-14 days.. So our death amount still has a long, long way to go. Today SHOULD be the highest death, and we slowly trickle down from there. There is no way we do the testing wanted by the phases within the next 2 months by the way, so get used to where you fellas are at. My mom is ahead of the curve at her lab and she is working hard AF to do 250 test a day. And she had 3 different state hospital pathologist who run the microbiology/lab for multiple hospitals come over and see what she is doing.

I'm purely going off the lag from total new cases and death rate following those days. Do you have a problem with that? And if so, state it.

Btw, the reason Trump is coming up with all these different test and touting they are all the best ever, is because we have no logistic way to do mass testing with any one test currently and probably never will in the near future. Trumps rating in my eye is going down by the day.

And the antibody test aren't worth shiet, thats why the false positives and negatives. OH and private doctors want a negative result for any patient they are supposed to do any type of surgery on. We are having a total breakdown of our healthcare system ATM.

Oh Farley you on the wet market thing. Trump just said the bat isn't even at the wet market at Wuhan. Are you sticking by it came from there still?

this will never be accurate in its current form

Like stated earlier youCANNOThave an apex when 70% of the population is in shelter hiding in the bubble of their homes.

You can only have an apex if everything was business as usual, no shelter in place, no social distancing and the number start to go down..

but as of right now this apex talk shouldn't be in the minds of any sane individual.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is now “actively looking into” results from universal COVID-19 testing at Pine Street Inn homeless shelter.
The broad-scale testing took place at the shelter in Boston’s South End a week and a half ago because of a small cluster of cases there.
Of the 397 people tested, 146 people tested positive. Not a single one had any symptoms.

https://www.boston25news.com/news/cd...CUAARBO4YWO64/

Edit: looks like they were confusing asymptomatic vs pre-symptomatic
Vv
The 146 people who tested positive were immediately moved to two different temporary isolation facilities in Boston. According to O’Connell, only one of those patients needed hospital care, and many continue to show no symptoms.

He is lying about the testing. Where do we go from here? There is no logistic leg we can stand on to preform the testing he outlined. Do we make fun of him at this point, or our healthcare system? Where does the literal buck stop at? It's our for profit healthcare. You can try and blame Trump for it, and he will never own up to it, as a real man should, but it literally is not his problem. It's a problem thats been passed down the line for decades, and Obama literally FUBAR'd it, and here we are. We have a POTUS who refuses to take any responsibility, and a healthcare system that only cared about making money. We have Doctors in TN who refuse to touch someone unless they test negative, and those same doctors refuse to pay for the negative test. Who is at fault for that?

For a month now we've been hearing about this many millions available tomorrow and this many million more next week, etc.
I mean with the way they talk, we should have enough test kits to test every ****ing American in the country. My guess is even if we had the kits it wouldn't matter because actually running the tests is the true bottleneck, not the test kits themselves.

Incredible how you can find out if there's a human growing inside you in a minute by pissing on a stick, but nothing faster can be done about finding out if you have a virus lol.

Actually not even close. There's no vaccine for the vulnerable population. I'd expect any seasonal flu that had no vaccine to similarly overrun our hospitals. Our hospitals are built to treat the known, not the unknown.

This is literally a seasonal flu that we are attempting to stop by quarantining everyone. It's not dangerous unless you're 60+ with diabetes and congestive heart failure.

Have the unhealthy and old stay home until a vaccine is available, like we have them get the flu shot every year.

Literally a seasonal flu

You either don’t know what the word literally means, or don’t understand that an influenza virus is not a coronavirus.

I suggest you read the ****ing news.

There are multiple reports of healthy, fit young adults with zero prexisting conditions getting put in ICU or dying because their immune systems overreact to the virus and hospitals dont know what to do about it. It's literally a coin flip as to how someones body might react.

No...no it’s not.

You say “read the news” as if the news is an indicator of real life. Between Feb. 1st and April 11th, in the US, there were 129 deaths of people under 35 years old from COVID-19.

Guess how many influenza deaths there were during that time frame in that same age group? 416

It’s not a coin flip by any means. It’s largely affecting older people. It’s largely affecting people with poor health. The media will cling to any story about a young person being seriously affected by Corona and write about it because they know it will get clicks.
Horny.

You read some of the post on here you would think it's a coin flip on your survival. We are sitting at the worst a 3% death rate, reality is around .37. This includes the elderly and people with serious pre existing conditions.

The truly scary part is the infection rate and the fact no one really seems to care where this came from. If China has something worse in their back pocket we are screwed. We have seen the complete breakdown of our healthcare system with a virus like this. No one is actually making money in a pandemic, atleast not the people on the front lines and the people doing testing. We are about to see a big "crunch" on our system and no one knows how it will fall .

I don't know about a complete breakdown. Hospitals across the country literally laying off nurses right now. NYC is completely fukked, but we are nowhere near hitting capacity anywhere else.
Virtue is its own reward.

Coin flips don't have a 99.8% chance of landing on the survival side. What a ridiculous comment.
Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.
