And from what I've seen the Rolex bracelets have came a long way over the years. Still would rock that vintage in a heartbeat though.

But yeah at one point i thoght about getting an IWC as my beater instead of an Omega AT. Couldn't bring myself to do it since they look so Daniel Wellington-like at a cursory glance.

lolz. I also thought the "grotesque" on the old GMT numbers was troll attempt. To me the older GMT (in pepsi form) is more of the classic GMT. Dont like the colors on the new one

Something about the numbers in the old one just looks off to me. maybe grotesque was an over statement though lol

unpopular opinion… not a big fan of GMTs in general. the SS sub WAS all i ever wanted but came to the reality i will probably never own one because i am too "scared" to buy grey and will never suck enough AD dink to have one.

Don't mind GMTs but think blue and red on a bezel looks juvenile. Tis why i'm fond of the BLNR or the rosegold CHNR. Black and Blue or Black and Maroon aligns better with my taste. Would be really cool if Rolex rereleased the Black and Red Coke. I'd be interested in that as well.

Agreed. The blue/red is just a little much. A coke or BLNR would be tits. I also think it's the way the Red looks now. Much more…pink-ish.

There are definitely a few greys out there that can be trusted. Specially on TRF.

In all reality, unless youre surround by WIS', most people will look at anything except a rolex and think it's a $50 or $450 watch.

Had a friend of mine compliment my speedy, and was shocked when i mentioned it was over 6k.

I always hear Daniel Wellington as the butt of jokes, but never really knew what they were until looking them up after reading the last few posts. So, obviously piece of chit fashion watches (no surprise), but the interesting part was that Odell Beckham is an ambassador for them lmao. I think it’s safe to say omega has enough brand recognition now. Your friend prob just didn’t think it cost that much

At some point, you have to accept that most people don’t know or give a chit until they see a receipt in front of them. The best and worst thing about Rolex is recognition. Most people know it’s expensive, but can’t tell the difference between a random 6 year old submariner, and a multimillion dollar Daytona. They just see the brand logo. People who are into the hobby can spot a Speedmaster from across a room, and they know that the model is a category unto itself (with wildly varying price ranges within it). My favorite watches have always been the type that go under the radar, but I’d probably adjust that view if I had a Daytona lol.

Why im really trying to wait and get the Aquaterra i want. As soon as i put it on, the colors just popped, and the mostly hidden clasp is money. Plus i think i can get a brand new watch, from an AD, at grey price since im catching the sales associate as he's leaving.

This is actually why i want an aqua terra as my beater. There is just no hiding the fluted bezel jubilee bracelet in any configuration (this is also the reason why i rolfcopter'd about that guy saying a breitling avenger was just as good). While i do love it, there are times where i don't want to be doing all THAT you know? I think the green dial AT will be just unique enough, and built just well enough to where i'll actually want to reach for it and wear it. As opposed to my tudor bronze which frankly, i now only wear as a charity case to it lol.

The grey and blue does look sick. Love the green as well. Even though I already have a blue one I’d love to get the green eventually.

My dream would be to have a hulk, blnr, and full Precious metal piece while keeping the seadweller for the plain Jane black rolex. But wouldn’t want to pay over 15 let alone 20 for either a Hulk or BLNR so will probably never happen.

Would be hard for me to choose between the platinum Daytona, platinum day date, and the yellow gold day date.

Looking for a 3 watch roll holder and damn these things are expensive.

The DJ is sort of a…meh why not…i like it…and it will get me some clout with the AD i just found (see deer diary post on last page). Part of the reason why i bought a speedy, but got the speedy because i put it on at this AD and just loved it, and suddenly "understood" it after seeing it in person. The DJ i'm just meh about, and in all reality would save the money and go elsewhere. The BLNR *is* something i will eventually have. Period. Now that the AD is out of the question and it will be grey for me, the DJ is much harder to justify if im "meh" about it. Even though the blue stick/fluted/jubilee sells for barely above MSRP + tax.

Wolf is pretty solid. These ones are usually a couple hundred bucks so this one is a pretty good deal. I posted a deal from their site a coupe months back and sale items were 70% off the sale price. I ended up with three different rolls during the sale. The only annoying thing is this model has those ring dividers so you have to remove one to get to the center watch unless its on a strap.

What is that in the backgroud? Hamilton Murph? looks better than any of those rolex TBH. Polished centerlinks always look like ****, If my YM wasn't a gift I'd trade it in bc of the polished center links

I love grand seikos in photos, just something about the case designs that rub me the wrong way when on wrist. I also don't like the ones with titanium bracelets as the lightness makes it "feel cheap". I know thats stupid but a real gripe of mine.
